£5.50 Timed (30 mins) @ 13:15 - Out. Shoved with 99 over the top of a limper, called by A9 in BB plus limper's QJs, and lost. So much value in these - Some of the play brought back memories of watching The Sky Open from 2007 on TV with Tikay yelling at 10 people every show not to play rag aces, it was that bad. I would've crushed those tournaments if I wasn't 13 at the time... )
£4.80 Doublestack Semi - Shoved 10bb with 55 from the Hijack and got called by 99, which held and left me with 2bb, went out shortly after in about 50th with 25 seats up for grabs.
Several things meant that I couldn't be bothered to grind. Records are on the laptop which is playing up really badly, will try to do a proper diary update then, and put my records on a flash drive as I think the laptop is on it's last legs. I'll be resetting it to factory settings, not expecting it to work but if it does, it saves me paying for a new laptop, so worth a try. Even if resetting to factory settings fixes the problems, I need a new battery for it too, as the old battery is useless now, so the laptop is plugged in all the time with the battery removed. Either way, a new laptop or new battery is going to be bloody expensive -_-
I'll play some £11 DYMs tomorrow, as the games will be softer at the weekend so no better time to move up a level
£250 GTD HU Shuffle (£5.50) - 37/39, overlay, couldn't resist, got matched against a massive fish, flopped a set of 6s, got called flop and turn by 10 high which hit a backdoor flush.
nice thread here pingu ,ive played a bit of cash with u and thought u were a decent player good luck with the dyms (i dont know how u do it they bore me to tears)
Today started badly, I was about £100 down before long, having followed a BIG losing player around the £22 DYMs, but couldn't have run any worse if I tried. Played all sorts of random stuff, as the bad start to DYMs today meant I couldn't be bothered playing them afterwards.
Glad that I didn't grind DYMs all evening - Entered the main and mini, having read about how soft the Saturday Night tournament field is. Main went alright to begin with, picking up a bounty before I decided to isolate an all in player - Button raises, SB jams, I have KJ, shove to get the button to fold, button calls with TT and holds, SB flips over JJ and gets a treble up, my stack is crippled. Lesson learnt, ignore the bounties. Would've given me 2 bounties and a big stack early on but probably a mistake nonetheless.
Exited the main shortly after, can't remember the hand so must have been fairly boring, standard stuff. I was still in the mini though, and eventually finished in 2nd place with 6 bounties, and £154. Wasn't without incident though - One guy (can't remember his name) had half the chips in play with 7 or 8 players left, somehow he didn't win it. Was also on the final table with someone who we shall "Mr Q4", after he called an all in and busted another Team 51 member, GaryQQQ, with that hand.
Went into HU, my opponent had a 2:1 chip lead. A pointless tournament break a couple of hands into heads-up was slightly annoying but meh. Final hand was strange, I couldn't be bothered raising the button and getting 3bet then having to fold all evening, so 4bet shoved K7 expecting a fold most of the time - got called by KQ, didn't improve, gg wp.
Probably showed a bit of inexperience short-handed and failed to convert a big chip lead 3-handed into a win, so need to work on that, but other than that, don't think I did too much wrong. Helped that almost all of my hands held when I got my money in as a favourite.
With that result, my £100 loss disappeared, which means 9 of the last 10 days have been winning days, and the only losing day was a £9 loss Long may it continue.
Aside from that, I made my much-anticipated return to the HU cash tables (Much anticipated if you're a bumhunter, anyway). A couple of interesting hands, including stacking my opponent with a Straight Flush, but ultimately decided to leave with my massive £1 profit once I noticed the villain had invited me to play more tables in the chat box, which I interpreted as "I want to take your money faster". No thanks.
£5.50 DYM - W4 L4, -£4.00
£11 DYM - W9 L7, +£4.00
£22 DYM - W1 L5, -£92.00, followed a fish around and ran like a tortoise.
Looks like you're really running behind target on your DYMs Pingu...
You gonna catch up, spend a day or two just hammering them? If you 6 table, you could easy get 100 in a day...although 1500 is big target + the 500 £11 ones aswell.

SORT IT OUT SKY.
Anyway, third time lucky... Know I'm behind, keep getting distracted by random tournaments with overlay, fish on a cash table, etc.
1,500 is 60 a day every day for the rest of the month, which should be achievable, plus about 20 x £11 DYMs too, should get there still.
Started off with the most tilting 20NL session ever. Played on 4 tables, and got donked beyond belief. Got the money in ahead and came out behind in 3 really big pots, could've been several buy ins up if I ran slightly better -_-
Afternoon session went even worse, took me losing 5 buyins to realise the majority of people on my tables at the time were fish and I should just play like it's high stakes 4NL ) Won a few quid back, but ended up another £76 down in that session.
Played the Forum DTD for the first time in ages, first time as a Team 51 member. Went out quite early in 2 of them, the third one I got a monster stack, 2nd in chips vs chip leader with 44 left, AA vs TT, flop was T high, couldn't fold. Villain gave me the best opportunity to fold by doing the "Idk whether to shove or fold so I'm going to call" pre, thus narrowing his range to mid pocket pairs, then shoving the T54 high flop, but couldn't lay the Aces down. Could've probably found a fold if the flop was T9x, J9x, or something like that, but it's a horrible spot. Posted the hand in the Poker Clinic for further discussion.
Would've given me 42k chips with 42 players left if I won the hand, which would've been absolutely massive, and put me in a brilliant position to take it down. Was rather painful having the lobby still open and watching the villain bleed my chips within a few hands, too -_- If you're going to bust me, at least go on and win the tournament with my chips plz.
Well if you manage to get your 1500 + 500 games, you'll be cruising into Priority (as I'm sure you've already calculated) Posted by Lambert180
Yep, 12.5k points if I reach both of those targets, just need to play more DYMs now lol

Tuesday 8th May
Belated diary update - Didn't feel too great yesterday so hardly played, spent most of the day on the forum instead. Was going to play the Master Cash TV tables but they were all full before I could get there.
Back to grinding today though, going to play a ton of £5.50 DYMs to catch up with my target.
Why do you want to get priority club so much, you get basically nothing for it. All I got extra of note is two small freerolls this month. Posted by Spad3s
Several reasons for wanting to get into Priority Club:
1) Gives me a C4P target to aim for every month
2) Bigger C4P bonus if I get into Priority Club 3 months in a row, which is quite likely as I'm off college all summer.
3) Freerolls - As you said, small freerolls, but free nonetheless.
4) Priority Account Manager, because ordinary Customer Care are hopeless.
5) SPT Direct Buyin - Went to Brighton earlier this year, want to play the Grand Final at DTD if I can, and be at a few more legs of the tour next year, too. Getting into Priority Club means I don't have to play a million satellites to try and qualify.
Couldn't resist playing the Doublestack. Waste of money though as I went out in the first hour in both, epic fail.
Really tempted to withdraw my roll, buy a couple of bigger monitors and have a better setup, leave 100BI's in my account and grind it back up by playing £5.50 DYMs. Would give me about £1,300 to spend, which should get me a decent setup and a new laptop, which I need.
Having a look on Google to see what I can get for £1,300, will decide whether or not to withdraw anything tomorrow.

£11 DYM - W1 L0, +£9.00
£5.50 Timed (15 mins) - Out (People limp calling with AA...GRR)
Played some 20NL, decided to try this "TAG" thing out, and it worked. Only played if I had quads pre-flop, and won some money. Might try it again some day, I don't know, folding 96s and 87o is no fun )
Also had a go at the DYM Laddering challenge on the forum (Hence playing a few really low level DYMs today before anyone says "You've got almost £2k, why are you playing 30p DYMs?") - Couldn't be bothered single tabling so reg'd for the 30p one, then reg'd for the 60p one once the 30p one started, etc. Won 3 of them, thought "Brilliant, this is easy", then got crippled in the 60p one with JJ < A3 AIPF. May have another go if I can be bothered, depends what the prize for winning is when it's announced, whether it's worth winning or not.
Had an epic fail in the £12k BH sat - Shoved 20bb on the button with AA, got called by AA in the big blind. Sigh, I've got aces and it's going to be a chop when I thought I'm going to be getting a double up, but at least I can't lose unless there's a 4 card flush on board. Somehow, I did, and there wasn't any flushes on the board. It wasn't until I looked at my HH that I realised I actually had A4. FML.
Nonetheless, I bought into the £12k BH, picked up 2 bounties and would've had a hell of a lot more if a ridiculously bad player getting lucky hadn't halted my momentum - Raised by CO, I 3bet shove with AK as I had notes on the original raiser saying he'd overplay marginal stuff to get a bounty and he had me covered, got called all in from the big blind with 78s, which was really unexpected, cutoff guy snap folds, and villain hits a 7 which crippled me. He knew the 7 was coming ofc. Bleh -_-
Annoying as I would've had a massive stack after winning that pot, we want them situations and to win every time, but Poker doesn't work like that, unfortunately. Had a few chips left but went out in a fairly standard hand, shoving from the Cutoff with an ace and a short stack into JJ which held.
Mini exit came from me picking up AT, UTG limps and Gliterbabe shoved from the Cutoff for 20+bb, I tank called but wasn't really happy about it, the fact I was out of the main and being short probably made me think "Meh, might as well gamble", I think if I'm deeper and/or still in the main, I probably throw it away and wait to either get my chips in first or wait for a better hand, and to not be shoved on by Gliterbabe as that's usually a bad spot to be in unless you have Aces.
A small loss in the end today, but can't help thinking what could've been if my AK had held up in the main against that (horrifically played) 78s. That's tournament Bingo for you, I guess. I should probably stop tilting now )

Not going to bother with this for the time being. Still need a new laptop, and I've got my eye on one for £350 that I like, but can't justify buying a desktop which isn't significantly better for Poker than what I already have. Maybe if/when I take down another big tournament, I'll reconsider, but for the time being, I'll just stare at pictures of 27" and 30" monitors on Google.
You can build a really really good desktop for very cheap(buy the parts and put together). Only around £250-£300. Thats the best way to go for poker I think, laptops not ideal....even if they are running external monitors, get very hot.
Can also get very cheap 24 inch 1900x1200 monitors, around £80 I reckin. If you want to go down the higher res 27 or 30inch monitors will cost you a good bit more.

Had thought about that, although I wouldn't have a clue how to build a computer, or where to look for the bits If I bought a 1920x1200 monitor, I'd need a least 2, and I'd probably want to be able to add a 3rd monitor in due course.

You can get a 24 inch monitor for around £100 pound on amazon, but it looks like most of they are all 1900x1080 these days which means you lose some pixels.
Putting a pc together is really easy and cheap, and you can put together something with much better specs then any laptop.
evil check out pcspecialist.com, thats where i got mine you need at least 600 imo for a decent pc + monitor. If you are going for cheap, make sure you get a decent case(get a a custom built pc), so you can add mods to it when you get dosh...
