In Response to Re: Lambert180 ----- Life After The Grind ------- : There are lot's doing it. Unfortunately the online bookies soon restrict you or close your account, including SKY bet with me and many others. They like giving the offers to mug punters but soon become wise to punters that expolit them.

This is my main concern for this. You mentioned that you have to bet big in order to maximise profits but i,ve done this in the past and had accounts suspended or restricted and pretty quickly too. i,d be to paranoid now about putting big bets on promos in fear of getting banned and losing my money.

I don't wanna go into it too much cos not sure if this is really the place (happy to it on FB)  but it's all about building an image/betting profile with bookies. It's one of the reasons why imo sites like the one I use are worth their weight in gold because there is mountains on knowledge of there from people who have been doing it for a realllllly long time.

I underestimated the value of my image in the early days and did lose a few accounts, but I aint lost one now for probably 9 months, touch wood. You can't just go from doing the odd £10 and £20 bet to lumping on £500 per bet, it's naturally gonna raise eyebrows and gonna get you restricted or banned vv quick. Two key things are

    1) You need to be 'mug betting' i.e. betting on things that your average punter would bet on that are totally unrelated to offers. Could be betting on big boxing matches like Haye v Bellew, betting on the premiership, the FA Cup, the Champions League, whatever. If 100% of your bets are related to offers then of course you won't last long, and yeah these mug bets will cost you QLs and you won't get anything for them but it's just a 'cost of business' in the pursuit of keeping all your accounts in order.

    2) Slowly build stakes (if it's a site where it's worth betting big), just gradually up things bit by bit. There are certain sites where I bet say £300 on a few premiership games a week and some La Liga cos that's in-line with the kinda stakes I'm doing when I go for their offers. Other sites do tiny offers so there's no need for me to go lumping on huge stakes.

One thing to add is that no reputable bookie would ever confiscate a penny of your money for doing this. If you are multi-accounting, i.e. trying to run multiple accounts with the same bookie, then they can confiscate funds cos that's a serious breach of their terms of service but for what I'm doing, the worst you're gonna get is them is basically them saying 'you are no longer allowed to take part in our promos/receive FBs' which obviously stops you taking advantage of offes in future but doesn't cost you anything.

The way I see it, if I get promo banned from every single bookie tomorrow, I'll still be X amount of money better off than I was, and I won't have lost anything. It's not like I'll ever want to place a genuine bet (I'm just not much of a gambler), and if I did, I'd just use a betting exchange anyway (who will never ban you) cos their odds are pretty much always the best anyway.

    Yo,

Thought I'd pop in and say hello. Been playing slightly more poker recently which is just >0 basically. Thought I'd give the mayhem freerolls a bash, see if I can't win me and Emma our first holiday abroad since we met about 8 years ago. Great promo but with only 4 heads from day 1, I got some catching up to do tonight!

    Otherwise, just plodding along MB'ing.

Unlucky Spurs fans, a valiant title challenge but Chelsea have just been too good this year. Thankfully they are gonna finish above Pool so JJ owes me a tenner... just gotta rail in a miracle for Utd to finish above Pool or I'll be giving him the tenner back.

Also been getting back in to some old games, got myself a Dreamcast emulator and recently finished Shenmue 1 and 2  :D I'd stick a picture up for the nostalgia if anyone else has played it but it'd probably be next week before it appeared. On to Grandia 2 now and then it'll be Skies of Arcadia <3

    How's everyone getting on?

Alright Lambert Can you post that link again pls for the sharkscope DYM leaderboard for consecutive cashes for the year - Can,t find it on sharkscope - Can only see profits - Think it was when jdalstar won about 20+

I,m only on 13 but considering dropping down to 30p normal structered ones to stand a better chance of getting on it (Thats presuming it does count TDYM,s)  Thx

I hadn't seen this site, cheers for the link. Slightly worried that all the donations that get you a copy of the game only say PS4 or PC... and I'm an Xbox One owner. Would be odd for them to not release it on Xbox seen as that's the only console where Shenmue 2 was ever re-released.

Might have to make a donation mysel now.

I've reached the sad age when I have to wait for my eldest to tire of a console before I get to play on it. Currently playing "X-Com: Enemy Within" on the X Box 360, and it's even better than the Amiga version of years ago (mind you, due to a production fault, the Amiga version was stuck on the "impossible" setting!)

Sony are contirubuting a fair bit of marketing budget etc so they have console exclusivity. Due out December but likely to get pushed back. Usually id be annoyed but already 15 years overdue so I can hang on!

Ah, I didnt know that, thought it was solely funded by that crowd-funding lark... that's slightly annoying, I haven't owned a Sony console since the PS2 but I'll have to find some way to play it, no way I'm waiting 15 years for the sequel then when it comes out not being able to play it.

Disappointed that there's gonna be pretty much nothing left to be decided in the league on the final day, always more exciting with all the games being at 3pm when there's loads still in the balance. Only thing I've got left now is top hope Boro can pull off a miracle and make Pool drop some points.

    Yo!

Taken my time to get round to updating about it but we've had some great news recently. Lily has been offered a place a Woodeaton Manor, a school for special needs, that's gonna be much more able to support her needs. They had very recently said there were no spaces there but I suspect because me, Emma and of Lily's doctors were really pushing the fact that she basically needed to there or they'd have to pay for her to go to the (very expensive) private special needs school in the area, they seemed to find a place ;) She'll still have a few more weeks of her current school after half term, then summer holidays and then she should start the new school in September.

Came out of retirement last night to play the £110BH, could have gone better, could have gone worse. Got a couple of heads for £75 and didnt cash, so didn't lose too much.

Well happy to hear that SPTs are coming back, it's the absolute best announcement Sky could possibly make imo. Can't wait to start grinding the sats for them, and hopefully can lock up my seat early and relatively stress free. Gonna be a whole new bunch of forum regs to meet that weren't even on the site when the last SPT ran.

Been looking for new (in the sense that I haven't seen it before) TV series to watch, thought I'd give Lost a bash. I watched the first few episodes when it was first broadcast probably 15yr ago now and just lost interest. Man it's a slow starter, but I'm finally getting in to it towards the end of series 1.

Great that you got a place sorted for Lily.

If you are stuck for more TV series I would reccommend 'Person of Interest'. It starts off interesting enough in series 1, in series 2, 3 & 4 they develop the characters and plot so well that you are thoroughly captivated. In the last season, season 5, so many things you thought were unrelated start to come together. The series finale was also brilliant. The last episode is rated 9.9 on IMDB and quite a lot of the user reviews suggest it is one of the best TV episodes ever.

    Really great news about Lily

2 little updates that I thought I'd post, but I'll keep them brief.

Firstly, Lily is coming to the end of her 2nd 'transition' week at her new school before going full time at the beginning of the new school year in September and it's been absolutely amazing. I went with her the first week to to get her settled in and it really is unreal the facilities and the set up they have compared to mainstream schools. I know she's really gonna flourish there.

The second is just a bit of shameless self advertising really, but I've mentioned computer games in here a few times and there always seems to be a bit of interest so I thought I'd share it in here.

I'm having a bash at running a Youtube gaming channel, and have just published my first ever video.

I'm gonna be doing loads of videos, probably 5+ per week. I'll be playing games across NES, SNES, N64, Dreamcast and then more modern games on PC, Xbox One and Wii-U so there should be something for everyone.

I've never done anything like this before so I'm very much learning on the go, so any feedback/advice or suggestions of games you'd like to see me play are very welcome.

Also, I'd be grateful to anyone who wants to subscribe and help me get the ball rolling, or share my channel in any places you think it might be appreciated.

If anyone wants to follow the new twitter for the channel, that would be great ;)

Thank you in advance for having a look and I hope you like it!

alright lambert - are you still making on that site - do you ever play casino tournaments ?
  • edited July 2017
Not a big gaming fan as I tend to just play poker anytime I want to play anything online but I have subscribed to try and help your numbers. I will mention it to my son too, he is deeply into all this stuff.

Will be interesting to see how you get on. I have been thinking of doing a poker channel with poker content as there really isnt much in the way of OH8 content out there. I hate my voice though and am worried about how much of a time commitment would be required for all the editing etc. Will probably give it a whirl though :)

Best of luck with this and great to hear things are going better for your daughter at the new school!

P.S. Had a look at your video, looks very good and you come across well.

Cheers guys. Still a bit nervy in the first few videos like (I've got a couple more recorded that just need editing before upload)... amazing how much of a difference it makes just putting a camera in front of your face! I mean I could kind of understand it if I was live streaming cos then people are there watching live and you don't wanna balls up etc but this is just me sat in a room, playing a game (and talking) and there just happens to be a little metal box near my face but it's deffo nerve wracking!

On the positives, I was exactly the same with my first few twitch streams of poker, not knowing what to say etc (which is probably made worse by having no followers at the start so you're just talking to yourself), but once I got a few streams under my belt, the confidence grew and things flowed a bit better and were just a bit more natural.

@Mp33 - Given that my first thought is 'what the hell is a casino tournament' I'm gonna say it's probably a no lol. If you mean slots offer where it's say deposit £100 get a 100% bonus and you have to wager it 10x to withdraw, then yeah I do stuff like that when it's good value, although the good ones aren't that common imo.

Your videos are interestingly therapeutic to watch ha - defs do more!

5 a week is a strong target - do you think it's realistic? Depends how much planning and then editing you have to do per video I guess?

    Top work!

Think he means a slot tournament like you get in the bookies.

Re slot offers if you have the bankroll and can tolerate the variance  of an 80-90% bust rate a lot of offers are +EV using high value spins. Had a lot of success in the past using blackjack to double before starting wagering although sites are clamping down on this. Coral VIP has some decent reloads as well - at least it did before they gubbed me just before Cheltenham - worth going for if you've not already

Thanks a lot Angmar, probably the nicest feedback I've had so far!

5 a week deffo won't be easy but I think it's do-able. The recording bit is actually the easy/quick bit... I know some people do a ton of cutting in their vids so they might literally play a game for an hour and by the time they've edited it to death, they upload a 15-20 minute vid. I don't do that, cos I wanna show the game in its entirety (minus loading screens etc) so the few vids I've done so far I've played for say 30 ish mins and come away with about 25 mins of material.

Whether that's a good thing or not I dunno, but my point is it only takes me maybe 30-40 mins to get set up and record 1 video... the rest of the jobs however are literally 5x that minimum (and that's minimal editing like I said). There's 3 seperate files, an audio file from the mic, a video file of my face and a video file of the screen, all 3 have to be synced up together. Then tiny little edits of loading screens etc, then adding the outro on. Then just rendering/encoding the file takes nearly 2hr, and then prob 30 mins to upload it... and then you gotta make a thumbnail! lol.

Thankfully (cos I'm bloody useless) my girlfriend is amazing at that kind of thing and so has been editing them for me. So yeah editing is definitely the bottle neck but I think 5 is about do-able.

I'll be uploading the 2nd episode of Doom sometime in the next couple of hours once the rendering is done, and then I've got another one recorded already of a totally different game that just needs editing.

I still don't know what that means tbh, but I never go into real bookies ever.

Yeah I know a few people who do the real high risk offers, but I just cba with the huge variance tbh. I want a stress free life, not bricking 9-10 x £100 buy in offers back to back before I win on one

Hey Angmar, I just released Ep2 of Doom if you or anyone fancies a mooch. I'd hoped to get it out last night before bed but the rendering took 5hr for some reason!

I'll have another new video out soon too starting a new series to run alongside Doom... once the editing is done on it.

The plan is to be playing like 3-4 games at a time minimum, that way if you're not a big fan of one of the games I'm playing, hopefully there will still be something you wanna watch.
