In Response to Re: Lambert180 ----- Life After The Grind ------- : Had a watch mate motion sickness :-( could never play the first person games. My personal favs are the old tomb raiders and resident evil any plans to do any of these ? Posted by weecheez1
Lol cheers. I actually play very few first person shooters but Doom's an old classic and where they all began really.
I've written a list of games that I could think of off the top of my head that I'm gonna play and Resident Evil is definitely on there. I know they made a remake of the first one, the best kind of remake, where the game is basically identical but just looks a lot better, and you can download that from the Xbox Store for about £6 so was gonna start there.
As for Tomb Raider, I hadn't planned to but I've mentioned on the channel that I'm open to suggestions of games to play and I'm up for playing pretty much anything really. I think the only Tomb Raider I've ever played was the very first one and I never played it that much but I did like it at the time
If you're not in to first person shooters Weecheez, I just uploaded a new video, the first in a new series playing a game called Watch Dogs. I've never played it before and didn't know anything about it at all, but it was given free to Xbox Gold members so thought I'd give it a spin on the channel and I'm really enjoying it so far.
Cheers guys. Still a bit nervy in the first few videos like (I've got a couple more recorded that just need editing before upload)... amazing how much of a difference it makes just putting a camera in front of your face! I mean I could kind of understand it if I was live streaming cos then people are there watching live and you don't wanna balls up etc but this is just me sat in a room, playing a game (and talking) and there just happens to be a little metal box near my face but it's deffo nerve wracking! On the positives, I was exactly the same with my first few twitch streams of poker, not knowing what to say etc (which is probably made worse by having no followers at the start so you're just talking to yourself), but once I got a few streams under my belt, the confidence grew and things flowed a bit better and were just a bit more natural. @Mp33 - Given that my first thought is 'what the hell is a casino tournament' I'm gonna say it's probably a no lol. If you mean slots offer where it's say deposit £100 get a 100% bonus and you have to wager it 10x to withdraw, then yeah I do stuff like that when it's good value, although the good ones aren't that common imo. Posted by Lambert180
Yeah most are between 20 and 40 times wagering now.
Thought casino tournaments might have been mentioned on that site you go on. They re basically leaderboards where you get points for your wins or sometimes number of spins played and if you only play the minimum stakes like 10 or 20p they can be quite profitable as you get paid out on your finishing position in the table. Saying that they have got more popular and to top the table you have to put a lot of time in.
Theres one running at the moment on a dreamcatcher wheel. You only have to bet 10p a spin but can win 3k for most rounds played over 13 days. I worked out from their points that the leader has been playing 22 hours a day for 8 days . (I reckon their teaming up to do it tho)

That was awesome for a freebie definitely my type of game I have not picked up my controller for ages (playstation 3) not got the concentration levels a couple of things that struck me, the graphics compared to back in the day when we used to think they great and the game play I remember being stuck at some tomb raider levels for weeks because there was no prompts you were on your own. I will be subscribing

Lol yeah you got me there, my driving was pretty awful. Took me a while to get used to how the car handled. Glad you enjoyed this game more, and glad to hear you're subscribing. Games definitely tend to be a lot more instructional now imo, they so often start with tutorials etc and tell you exactly how to do everything step by step.

Never really considered these might have a look, like with the rake races on here might be some value in going for one of the lower prizes. Won't be going for a 22 hour slot grind though lol. (Sorry to hijack the thread)
I haven't mentioned it on here yet but I've got a bit of bet going with Don (standard!) about this Youtubing lark, only a very small bet for a bit of fun.
Basically I've bet him a fiver that I'll reach 100 subscribers within 1 month of having uploaded my first video.
It's only a bit of banter/fun like, it all sprouted from the fact he said he got to 100 subscribers in 6 months and that it was phenomenal growth... I disagreed so made a bold claim obv lol.
It's gonna be really hard like, and I'd imagine he's favourite to win but I like a good challenge and it's a good motivation for me to keep up the content and advertise well etc.
So I'll keep a bit of a running commentary going in here of how the first month is going and how I'm coming along with the bet.
I uploaded my first vid on Tuesday (4th July) so I've got till 4th August to make it to 100 subs. I've got 26 at the mo, so 74 more to go... That might look good but obviously that includes a lot of my friends/family.
Been very slow progress with the Youtube channel the last couple of days cos I was away from home for the weekend so couldn't record any videos, but I got straight back on it today. Recorded a few videos today, and finally got one of them edited and uploaded just now...
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES
I have such amazing memories of this game, played it and loved it so much as a kid despite the fact I could never get further than what I could now do in about 10 mins. Great soundtrack, cracking graphics for the NES that imo wouldn't look out of place if it was on the SNES and I guess a lot of my love came from the fact it was very true to the cartoon which was by far my favourite TV show. Anyway I'll let you watch it if you're that way inclined.
I just uploaded my 7th video and the channel has been up and running now for 10 days so kind of on target with my aim of doing 5 videos per week minimum. The breakdown atm is...
2 x Doom
2 x Watch Dogs 2 x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
1 x Super Meat Boy
Stumbled across the fact I downloaded the SNES Zelda (Link to the Past) ages ago on our Wii-U which is one of my absolute fav games of all time. Would love to do a run through of that but might have to come up with some kind of challenge to make it a bit more interesting/hard. Anyone got any ideas?
I've heard of some ridiculous ones like completing it without getting hit once, but I aint bloody super human!
Let me know if there are any other games with well known challenges too, anything that might spice things up a bit.
I absolutely love NES turtles and can get through to the technodrome/final boss with all 4 turtles and loads of power ups but then I always succumb. Rock hard!
I dont really 'get' this whole fad of watching others play games but good luck with it.
For a challenge I would like to see anyone do the hovercycle level of Battletoads on the SNES without following a guide - simply ridiculous!

Mad you say that cos I was having a go at Battletoads earlier tonight trying to see how far i could get/if its worth doing a video. Still couldnt do that level on the hovercycle. I played that game SO much as a kid and dont think I ever did it, it is ridiculous. I did get quote far tho so if i ever manage to do it on video I will upload it.
The final episode of me finishing the turtles game should go up this weekend hopefully too, just need it editing. As a kid i dont think i ever got past diffusing the bombs in the water but deffo finding it easier as an adult.
Hey guys, I was after some suggestions for a new idea I've had...
So I've decided to add a new element to my gaming channel. I'm gonna hunt down the hardest levels/bits of games, and complete them on the channel, hopefully providing some tips on how to do it yourself.
These will be much shorter videos than my regular lets plays because it'll just be 1 level/boss. Probably mostly 5-10 mins so should be more quick and snappy, easy viewing.
I've already got a few ideas in the pipeline... the Turbo Tunnel in BattleToads, killing Emerald and Ruby weapon in FF7, beating Mike Tyson in Punch Out.
So I'm just trying to get ideas from other people for really tough bits of games. Is there anything either you think is just crazy hard, or even better, something you've never been able to beat yourself? Get your suggestions in and I'll try to crack them on my channel.
I have no interest in this thread Unless you add in some spectrum games Posted by Jac35
Wow, it's been a while since I've played one of those!
As a kid I had the advantage of having 2 brothers that were the better part of 10 years older than me so even when I was super young/too young to have consoles, they had them.
The spectrum and the Commodore 64 both just blend in to 1 in my memory. Both had some really good games (can't remember which were on which) and both took bloody forever to load a game. Mad to think I used to wait like 10+ mins for a game to load only to play it for 5 mins, realise it was bloody impossible then turn it off.
Attack on the core - GameCube rogue squadron. Fzero gx - story mode on master Some 16bit contra or gunstar heroes Achieving anything on the frankly incomprehensible 'Frankie' game for spectrum/amstrad Posted by jimb0d1
Ah I've asked this same question in a couple of places and the number of people mentioning Fzero GX is really adding up so guess I'm gonna have to put that on the list.
The name 'Frankie' sounds vaguely familiar but I can't remember anything about it,
Hey so I changed the format of my recent idea slightly. I've decided it's now gonna be that viewers of the channel send me their suggestions/challenges (twitter, FB, comments on Youtube) of the hardest bits of games and I'll complete it. I'll give a shout out/thank you in the video to the person who suggested the challenge (that's more relevant for people who have got a Youtube channel themselves)
It seems to have took off REALLY well. I've had tons of positive feedback about the idea and the first video and a good 50+ suggestions for challenges from various people already. There's a really good mix too, beating certain levels on Mario/Sonic, winning Rainbow Road on 200cc, beating certain bosses in games.
Here's the first video anyway, someone asked me to complete the Turbo Tunnel from Battletoads.
Just a quick update on the bet with Donaldo, I called it a while ago but I reckon he is just gonna pip me to the win, I'm up to 61 subs now, reckon I'll make it to 90+ before the end of my first month but will fall short of 100.
