Cheers, TPTP. I haven't actually had to drop stakes yet and still hoping it won't happen. I'm still hovering around the £800+ mark and I anit dropping to 20NL until I have £750 or less.
==============================================
As a bit of an update, I played the DTD last night which couldn't have went much worse, think I was like 2nd to bottom in the DTD league lol, so that was £5.50
Today I played 2 x £2.30 SPT Micro Sats and got into the QF on the 2nd attempt. So got in cheap and I'm playing that now so updates (good ones hopefully) to come later... just took a small hit which dropped me to 18th out of 22, but we're still really deep and there are 6 seats + cash for 7th so still confident.
Also played 2 x £5.25 HU SnGs earlier today after busting the first Micro Sat and wanting something to do before the next one started (and it's a decent way to fund my sats), won both of them for £9.50 profit so freerolling the QF
Don't think I've felt this tilted for a very long time!
I got down to the final 12 of the SPT QF so 2 tables of 6, and there were 7 seats up for grabs (I'm 6th in chips). I click away from the table, to load the other table up, click back to my table as someone has shoved and I click back on my table over the call button
I had QTo and luckily I was against AK which is as good as I could have hoped for but he flopped the Ace and it was game over as he had me covered.
Most tilting mis-click ever! Not bothered about losing the £4.60 it took to get me in, but I was pretty confident of having a seat locked up for the £48 game and just frustrating to waste about 4 hours of my day on SPT sats to blow it on a stupid misclick.
Since the above satellite I thought I'd give one of the SPT Frenzies a go. Got up a decent stack at one point and just needed 1 more hold to be in with a real shout of taking it down but no such luck. 10 rebuys in all so that cost me £24.40 and took my bankroll down to £781.94
As mentioned on Robbie's diary, I've been away from cash for a good few weeks now but was (emphasis on was... lol) feeling a lot more motivated to play and de-tilted as I know I was carrying a fair bit of accumulated tilt into each session.
Played about 4.5 hours 6tabling (4x30NL and 2x20NL).
So I sat down tonight, usual routine tick the box to wait until it's my BB, then my very first hand of the session, I get dealt 88 and flop a set... WAL

Sigh, great positive start to the session lol, but shrugged it off and carried on. Things were really up and down from there, got owned by Rancid a few times, won a few nice pots, lost a few all-ins, even one that involved me getting it in on a 457 flop when I had bottom set against a caller with 2 overs and no draws but somehow managed to runner runner a flush w/ KQo.
Finished the session -£36.64 which could have been a lot worse. Really due a winning session of some sort soon, preferably a big one!
Looks like it's time for me to step down and start playing purely 20NL for a little while until I can rebuild a little.
Chin up m8, things will turn around. To sit down and be on the wrong end of a cooler like that in the very first hand is always a kick in the teeth!! Fair play to you for shrugging it off and not letting it get to you.
Woop! I finally had a winning session lol. It feels like it's been a reeeeally long time since I've had any winning session at cash.
For the first time in a long time, things seemed to be going my way. Tonight I managed to set over set someone (ul AJ) which makes a nice change from me not having the underset. Also won that big like 500xBB pot on a mastercash table that got shown on 861... for anyone that missed it...

Annoyingly, I was leaving my session just as the tables broke, and as they did one table went down to me and 1 guy playing HU, it was my last hand of the night on that table and got it in pre for 100xBB w/ AK only to see AA, so that's chipped off a bit of profits.
But, that said, I still finished +£65.86 which is a great feeling after so many losing sessions back to back. Shame it's not £85 but I won't complain. Nice to be back above £800.
Have kept meaning to update but forgot. I keep all the deets in a notepad document until I've updated anyway so just run through them.
Played £10.50 SPT QF on Monday, can't remember what happened but didn't get through
Played DTD on Monday, had a couple of deep runs but bust DTD 1 two places off the bubble (can't remember how) and got a little further in DTD 3 but bust 99 v KQ in 11th place for £5.93 so just about covered my BIs
Lambert180 0 11 £5.93
Then tonight I played a Micro sat which went very badly. I late regged and came in @ 75/150 w/ the 3k starting stack and was on a 3handed table. Open AJ from the SB, get it in w/ TPTK v AA and that leaves me without about 1.2k. Next hand on the BTN I shove K9s and the same guy has AK, gg.
Then I just bought in direct to the SPT QF, was doing ok, chipped up a little bit then lost AK v TT. Left me fairly short and just grinded away for another half an hour or so, folding lots, getting the odd jam through til eventually someone open limped the BTN w/ AJ (just meh) then called when I shipped from 10xBB from the BB w/ 5Ts and A-high was good by the river.
So played 2 more games tonight. I saw there was a £6 super sat for the £110 monthly roller going with loads of overlay so thought I'd give it a whirl. Wasn't even really bothered about playing the roller but was just gonna play it for the cash cos needing to come top 5 out of like 40 (that's what was left when I late regged) runners to turn £6 into £110 is pretty sweet. I 3bet shipped QTcc for 20xBB effective and got a lolbad call with J9o who got there.
Then I played the £11 £2k BH. Was doing pretty well throughout, not really any tricky spots. Then shipped my 15xBB w/ QTss into an 11xBB stack who had A8ss BvB and couldnt get there. That left me crippled and I busted shortly after just outside the cash. I took 1 head

Pretty sickening now how bad I race in MTTs. If it was stars or w/e I'd expect them to be ridic high variance with the massive fields but we're talking like 100-200 runner MTTs where yes there will be high variance as in all MTTs but not as high as like 1k+ runner MTTs. I consistently get deep runs and then become incapable of winning a race.
I regged the £12 SPT Direct because I saw there was 1 seat GTD and only like 7 runners so loads of overlay. Ended up getting 18 runners anyway so just 2 runners shy of the guarantee but still only 1 seat up for grabs.
I ran pretty da mn good and won my seat
Lambert180 36000 1 Entry to £40k SPT Nott/ham
Really shows what you need to win a shortstacked MTT, you basically need to win every single race. I was doing well the entire way through and had twice as much as 2nd place for most of the game but even still losing just 1 race would have crippled me.
The one hand that basically won it for me I got super lucky

Such a relief to finally get my SPT seat because now all the pressure is off to play sats and I can go back to grinding cash. So all in all, I got my seat for about £50 so I'm well happy with that.
Cheers Jac, you got in there before I could even brag
Decided to have a look at my SS this morning (just for MTTs) and last night has helped it look a bit more respectable. I've pretty much always had a really good ROI (for as long as I can remember lookinag at it anyway) just still waiting for them big wins. More volume needed!! 500 MTTs in the space of like 4 years is pretty lolbad.
Had a bit of scary incident yesterday. Me and Emma took the kids out to a Harvester which was nice (and not scary at all). Then driving home on the windy roads (that is winding roads, not roads where wind is blowing) with rain pouring down, we're on an A road about 2 mins from our house and just as I drive round a bend, we see a car on the opposite side of the road (coming towards us) completely spinning out of control only about 30ft from us. Luckily for us (and them), they managed to end up spinning out to the left so avoiding us and only spinning into a field where they managed to at least stay flat and come to a relatively safe stop.
Just finished a 3hour session of 6tabling 20NL. Nothing really major of note, could have went better, probably unnecessarily bluffed off a BI by the old 3 barrelling with air trick once, but still managed to make a teeny weeny profit of £2.73
I have no idea in this hand what villian could possibly have to bet/call, bet/call and then bet/fold river Guess it can only be trying to cheaply bluff a missed draw

Thoughts on this, good spot to turn my hand into a bluff? Pretty confident villian isn't strong by his sizings getting (relatively) smaller and smaller each street, I just don't wanna call and then puke when he turns over like 8To
I was staying at my mum's again tonight so the usual story of me only being able to 1table for the night. After asking round some mates, it was decided the most effective use of my 1tabling time would be playing HU SnGs, so that's what I did
Since they altered the structures of all the HU SnGs a couple of months ago, the Turbo games are just too fast now imo.... I know that's funny coming from someone that used to grind Hypers, but I used to use Turbos when I fancied something a bit slower, something where I knew I had a bigger edge and wasn't so swingy, but now Turbos aren't far off what Hypers are.
So I stuck to the Speeds (which are as close to the old Turbos as there is), didn't manage loads of games cos I wasn't in full grind mode, just chilling out while watching TV and again I could only 1 table. Started off a bit rubbish, got coolered a couple of times and 1 game I lost was just a standard GII first hand JJ v AK and I can't hold.
Finished up winning 8 games, and losing 7 for a whopping total profit of £1.25
I also got a free £5 thing from Sky which had to be spent on roulette, and I ran pretty bad there too lol. Bet on red & even, it comes green 0, then I bet red & even again, it comes black 33, then I bet odd and black, it comes green 0 again lol. I did manage to place 1 bet that won something though and as every bet was just coming out of the free bet and all winnings were in real money, I did finish +£1.50
Got a 3hr session in tonight of 6tabling 20NL. Another small win and I'm happy with that, not as big as I'd like (obv) but it's all good for the confidence after so many losing sessions
Finished +£21.35. Probably could have been more if Trebor wasn't just completely running over me HU on one of the tables that broke.
Finished the month on 2697 points so got £26.97 to come, and a £220 SPT seat. Definitely my worst month so far of 2013 but could have been a lot worse and I've definitely been getting things back on track toward the end of the month.
Will set some goals etc for July tomorrow.
Bankroll: £789.87 (+£26.97 C4P to come) + SPT Notts Seat
Usually yes Est... seems to have gone a bit quiet recently, not sure why but I like this as a means of tracking my own progress anyway.
Unlucky Geldy, not many worse feelings (in poker) than someone making a shocking call and you thinking 'wow wtf!! .... oh you got there'
Yeah, won't be long before I'm rolled to move back up. The target is still on to reach 50 BIs for 50NL by the end of the year and imo still very easily achievable.
congratz on the spt notts dude, i might be there - still thinking about it.
anyway i'll prob be playing some hyper HUs in evenings and weekends here for lols, how many you reckon can be grinded out over a week prob playing like 3hrs a day over the course of a month??? say 6pm-11pm...
Hey TPTP, be cool if you made it to the 6max at DTD.
Well depends how you feel about playing more than 1 table cos obv they get pretty hectic if you got loads open, I used to 2table them and I think that's when I played my best, occasionally 3tabled but think my play got worse doing this.
Per table, you can play about 12 games per hour. So I was getting in 24 games per hour when I was 2tabling, then obv if you play for 3 hours that's 72 games per day.
So could get over 2k games in a month if you play literally every day.
yeah im pretty comfortable mass tabling so will be an ajustment at first i guess, literlly just spent my entre poker roll decoratng my house as expecting new a nipper soon (gotta keep the mrs happy) so im thinking she wont mind me building up another roll on the side to spend on the baby when it arrives. i'll prob start at the 3s or 5s...and take it from there, i take it if your playing 2tables the traffic is pretty steady and not much idle time?
At what stake to things start slowing down? 10s, 20s, 30s?
lambert do you think that the cash tables could be much tighter this week as lots of villians will be folding most hands with them having lots of tables open.
@TPTP - Yeah, I mean I mostly played in the evenings and my regular games were the £5s and did spend quite a bit of time at £10s. At them stakes you can pretty much be non stop 2-3tabling of an evening with hardly any waiting time (mostly). Sometimes it can be a little bit slower in the daytime but even then you're generally not waiting much longer than 60 seconds in between regging and getting a game.
Never played 20s and 30s but Dohhhhh can answer that cos he does. GL anyway. Except for about 2 regs games are really soft up to and including £10s so (as always in hypers) just avoid running bad and you should do fine.
@Craig - The tables couldn't be much worse on Sky than when they run a promo like this. This is why I moan about them and why I generally don't play much cash when they're on. The terrible idea to base people's scores on how many hands they are dealt in and not how much rake they pay just encourages the nits to go even deeper into their shell, open up a million tables and sit there folding all day so they can make a couple of hundred from a promo and cooler people with KK+ in between that.
Don't get me wrong, ppeople that play like that are easy to beat, but it's a very slow cos you can only constantly nick small pots off them and it's painfully boring playing against 3-5 people like that per table.
Well it's about time I got round to doing an update I guess...
Since Monday I've been playing HU SnGs cos I just cba with the cash tables during these awful promos that just encourage people to mass table and fold lots. Obv as is standard Lambo, I've ran like a one legged dog, it really is pretty unbelievable how bad I've ran. The only comfort is that the sample size is relatively tiny but have just been unable to win a flip or 60/40 or 70/30 for days.
In Dohhhhh style I'll post a few examples.
So far since Monday I've Won 63 games and Lost 76 all @ £5 Speeds and Hypers for a total loss of £99.75. Imo, I'd say I'm like the better part of £150 below EV atm but meh not much I can do about it.
Mehhh he had 8 club outs too but bleurgh

Gonna spend a few days playing MTTs on .fr (will still update here). I got my C4P today which helped get the BR just about above £700 again but yeh this has been a pretty brutal 6 weeks now... just waiting for it to turn.
Hey paul, I am back into the skype group now so anytime you wanna chat look me up, good to see you are back on the HU sngs, perhaps if sky see volume players are moving away from cash for promos etc, it might make them think about a new sng promo instead of cash champ/big deal.
Dont worry about the small sample you have mentioned, over time things will turn around.
@ Larson - tomorrow is a bit short notice, and people only watched the Youtube draws cos Emma was in them with me and she won't do it lol.
@ Gooner - Meh, if only you were right, I suspect they'll just think 'oh well, he's paying us rake if a different way so who cares'. I don't mind rake races so much, although it's still annoying when every table is reg heavy BUT I do mind rake races based on hands dealt so the tables become full of people 16tabling and folding all day. Yes it's a very beatable strategy but it's bloody boring and a far better win rate is attainable from loose bad players than stealing a BB every orbit cos they were only dealt AJ.
I'll get back to winning ways at HU before the month is out. And no you can't have him lol.
I've mentioned before that I keep track of session results, certain HHs etc in a notepad doc while I'm playing, well I came across a hand ID today when I scrolled down and had a goosey gander. It was just a brutal beat I planned to share so here it is...
Have 'em dominated ftw, turn a FD to just destroy their soul with 1 card to come, then lose. Pretty sure I also went on to lose this game lol.

Bankroll: £817.54

WAL
Finished the session -£36.64 which could have been a lot worse. Really due a winning session of some sort soon, preferably a big one!
Looks like it's time for me to step down and start playing purely 20NL for a little while until I can rebuild a little.
Bankroll: £745.30
Poker Points: 2142 (£21.42)
Not posted in your diary in a while, but have been keeping up with how you are doing.
Was really impressed when you had lost a bit a while ago, your head was right back on it, and were soon back to winning ways.
Not much to say that you won't already know/ have heard, you'll be used to the ups and downs.
All the best to you, and am sure you will be back up there sooner rather than later
For the first time in a long time, things seemed to be going my way. Tonight I managed to set over set someone (ul AJ) which makes a nice change from me not having the underset. Also won that big like 500xBB pot on a mastercash table that got shown on 861... for anyone that missed it...
But, that said, I still finished +£65.86 which is a great feeling after so many losing sessions back to back. Shame it's not £85 but I won't complain. Nice to be back above £800.

Bankroll: £788.29
Poker Points: 2273 (£22.73)

Bankroll: £775.04
Poker Points: 2288 (£22.88)
I regged the £12 SPT Direct because I saw there was 1 seat GTD and only like 7 runners so loads of overlay. Ended up getting 18 runners anyway so just 2 runners shy of the guarantee but still only 1 seat up for grabs.
I ran pretty da mn good and won my seat

Really shows what you need to win a shortstacked MTT, you basically need to win every single race. I was doing well the entire way through and had twice as much as 2nd place for most of the game but even still losing just 1 race would have crippled me.
The one hand that basically won it for me I got super lucky
Bankroll: £763.04
Poker Points: 2298 (£22.98)

I have no idea in this hand what villian could possibly have to bet/call, bet/call and then bet/fold river Guess it can only be trying to cheaply bluff a missed draw

Unlucky Geldy, not many worse feelings (in poker) than someone making a shocking call and you thinking 'wow wtf!! .... oh you got there'
Yeah, won't be long before I'm rolled to move back up. The target is still on to reach 50 BIs for 50NL by the end of the year and imo still very easily achievable.
My personal favourite was when I have 2 people each drawing to 2 outs, to then flop a FD and have them each drawing to 1 out.... turn bink!

Standard limp/call spot
