Byron Nelson 1st round leader - have aimed for players who have showed a liking for alternate conditions so I the wind is indeed up all throughout today then they could go ok.

    Russell Knox 200/1
    Brendan Todd 150/1
    Joe ogilvie 250/1

Foremost 2 are in recent decent form and latter was 3rd here 2 years ago in similar conditions to what are expected.

2 quid e/w ticklers on each

What time does it start, can you put the decision off until Delaet is into his round?

We always have 25% of each other in live events. Can leave the decision til tom morning. Bad start for Delaet, 1st two holes, missed his birdie putts by inches.

Normally I'd say it's been a good start for DeLaet, in fact currently tied 13th, is a good place to be.

From what I saw on shot tracker, it was a comfortable 67 (could have been better, but certainly no worse) and sets him up nicely for the rest of the tournament, even if Keegan Bradley shot a silly 60!

Sadly no use for the first round leader bets and Ryan Palmer missed a place by one shot.

If you do dig deep for Sheffield, hope you or Rosjim cash.

    Edit: Hope you both cash!

Cheers mate, yep I'm going. As for Delaet, very frustrating 67. Putt after putt just missing for birdie. Ok 10 under was too good, but a place wasn't far away. Good luck with him for the w/e. I'll let u know via this thread if either of us go deep.

Well..... I'm writing this from my sofa and not from the casino playing day 2.  Starting stacks were 25k  3rd hand in I got QQ on the button. After 5 limpers I ramped it up to 250. Everyone called. 1st to act shouted 'check' even BEFORE the cards were exposed. 992 was the flop. Everyone else checked to me, I bet out 1500. 1st to act called, one other did. Turn was a blank, checked to me again, this time I bet 3k. 1st to act called, other folded. River k, he checked, so did I behind him. He had 9 10. And that's how my luck ran til I was down to 3k in the 2nd level. Very embarrassing!!! Anyways, I grinded away, and by the break was back up to 15k. Within an hour of play re-starting I'd doubled up to 60k, now nearly double the ave'. Then I induced a bluff and I was on nearly a 100k (poss' chip leader). My nearest oppo on my table had 70 ish, the rest below ave', which was now just over 30k. Then boooooommmm!!!! I was on the button, looked down to find 22. I called the min raise, so did the SB (70k man) BB folded. Flop came down 2,5,10 all clubs. SB checked, initial raiser (small stack) bet out 2k, I raised to 10k (worried about the 3*clubs), SB called, small stack folded. Turn was another 10. Now I'd housed up, SB bet out 17k, I didn't mess about, I got it all in, SB called.... He had 55 for the better house ffs grrrrrrr. The only hand that was beating me (I discounted quad 10's as he wouldn't have bet that strong with the total nuts). He was the only stack that could have hurt me. So instead of a silly 170k stack, I was back to the ave' 30k. Within 5 hands I got AQ clubs. There was 10k in the pot after I had raised it pre with 2 callers. The flop was k high with 2 clubs. There was a bet, a call, then me to act. Again I didn't mess about, I shoved, got one caller who said, ' this is what happens when u play sh@t cards', and showed 3,5 clubs. 'Oh dear' I said as I showed my cards. He stood up (which I hate) ready to leave. Turn 3 river 3 ffs!!! So instead of getting back upto well above ave' stack of 70k ish I was heading for the exit. From hero to zero in 5 mins lol...

Oh yes lol..... Didn't mind the big pot loss, I got it in behind. A better player would have got away from it with less damage done. Size betting my big downfall live. But the exit hand was comical. Him calling a pre flop bet of 3.2k with 3,5 clubs. Then calling off his remaining 25k on a draw. A poor draw at that.

Great effort Neil, at least you got yourself in position to run deep, it just wasn't meant to be this time.

Back to the golf, I've not seen anything of the first days and right now DeLaet is tied 8th, 4 off the lead, so i'm hoping to actually see him play a few holes and keep himself in contention.

This next 2 days will test my faith in Graham DeLaet!

  • edited May 2013
Sounds like an eventful day Neil!

I havent seen any golf these last two days. Only DA Points in with a place shout for me tonight. How's everyone else doing? I think I remember Flash having Tullo?

Went to Wembley yesterday for the play-off final. It was a total embarrassment. The players just froze on the big stage. It must be the worst performance ever in any play-off final. To work hard all season to just give that pathetic effort in the final isn't acceptable.

    Oh well wp Bradford though.
  • edited May 2013
I did have Tullo yeah. Starts with a 1 shot lead, gets a hole in one on the 4th and still loses by 2 shots. Just didn't take advantage of 11 and 12 like he has done all week, and bogying 2 par 5's didn't help him!
  • edited May 2013
backed harris english this morning 33/1 tenner straight, though wouldnt begrudge the keegster winning
  • edited May 2013
Well done / unlucky with Tullo Flash, 50/1 was a decent price.

Look's like a third top 10 of the year for Graham Delaet, whcih can only mean I'll be backing him again if the bookies continue to price him at 3 figures.

Got my DeLaet money back this week as I backed him ew at 25/1 in the ROW market and look's like he's finished tied 3rd in that field.

I had a saver on Schwartzel at 12/1, just in case the pressure and conditions get too much for the front two.

Run bad continues.... I followed the Racing Post on line advice Sunday morning and had a good bet ew on Morten Orum Madsen @ 20/1..... Watching it via the website soooooo frustrating lol... Only Corals were betting in running, and that gave a quicker indication of how things were going. Stood on the 18th tee joint leader I was very hopeful... When Uhlein went 1/5 then 1/8 i thought 'WTF'??..... Then bang..... Double bogey at the last for my man. Thanks!! Worse still it was only 1st and 2nd paid ew. So I ended up d/heating for the place. Where's that black cat gone???

It will be interesting to see who everyone goes for in the BMW this this week. Apart from Luke who isn't in great form, there isn't really anybody who shows consistently good performances here...

Yep, I agree Charles. 2 weeks ago I mentioned pre The Players I expected Donald to play well there and I'd be all over him for this week too. But it's just not happening for him at the min. There's one player though that's sticking out for me at the min. He played very well in Bulgaria, arrow straight, and available @ 40/1. Francesco Molinari. Your thoughts??

He was the first on the list for me to look at this week! He has been pretty terrible all season until the matchplay where although I only watched some of the final, I saw he was despatching of players very easily! With that being said though, considering how many strong home players there are this week, 40/1 seems a bit short. I was hoping 50/1 would be on offer due to his poor season...
  • edited May 2013
Francesco appears to be a good choice although I'm leaving him alone, whenever I back him he putts really badly.

My two are Kaymer and Grace. 33/1 + 50/1.

    Will post properly later.

    BMW PGA

Ernie Els - 40/1 - This is literally his back garden! Has shown some good results in big events this year and proves he is still a threat. He would love to win this event!

Paul Casey - 66/1 - Lot's of good home players in the field this week, bu none of them showing any great value. Obviously we all backed him the other week and he was a massive flop, but came back in his next event with a top 20. Past winner as well.

    Crowne Plaza

Charley Hoffman - 33/1 - I like this guy, good to watch. He let me down a few weeks back when he had a 2 shot lead going into Sunday, but another good performance last week has put him back on my radar. Has only played here once in the last 3 years (Last year) and came T13.

Martin Laird 33/1 - Showing great form this year, has 2 previous T10 finishes. This is very much a ball strikers course, similar to the PLAYERS which was his last event getting a T5. - Probably my tip of the week!

finally back after work commitments took over last week. Had a few bets last week including Bradley for 1st round leader at 30/1. None of my others came in meaning I made only a small profit.

    This weeks picks:

    BMW

    Outright
Casey 66/1            (previous winner and improving form)
Larazzabal 80/1      (in great form with 4 top 10's in last 5 starts - ew paying top 6 made this sound like good value to me, especially with the favourites being so short)

    1st RL
    Lynn 66/1
    Cabrerra-Bello 100/1

    Crowne

    Outright
Mahan 34/1          (might finally be starting to find some form)
Leishman 34/1      (3 top 10's and 1 top 15 in last 4 starts suggests he's one of the most in form players on tour - just hoping he can go a step further and win)

    1st RL
    Villegas 100/1
    Ishikawa 100/1

Had money on Graham Delaet again last week - his stats off the tee and to the green are very impressive. Driving distance 8th, Greens in regulation 2nd and Proximity to hole 15th. Putts per round.........171st!!! So frustrating watching the pga shot tracker and "seeing" him miss 4 footers!

ps had to laugh at the Skybet email I got this morning. "Congratulations on your profitable 12 months" about 2 lines of text then just a giant "bet now" button underneath lol I cant be sure but I think they want me to place bets to win it back off me!

It was only just over £100 which basically works out as my jammy punt on Ernst a few weeks back! still, nice to be in profit!

as for this weeks bets - fingers crossed your right :)

Weather Warning!!..... Tomorrows late starters are going to be playing in a storm/gales.... I'm changing most of my fantasy golfers to early starters and reducing my stake on Molinari. Gonna have Rose 11/1 win only as my main bet now, backed up by Noren ew @ 66/1, and Molinari (can't dessert him) ew @ 40/1. And a small bet on Waring ew @ 225/1. Lastly an ew bet on Noren 1st round leader @ 60/1.

Cheers for that Neil. Just checked the forecast and you're right! At 1pm just as my guys are meant to be teeing off it's meant to be lashing it down and 18mph winds. So I've gone with a few rd1 savers... Siem @50/1 Oleson @55/1 and Lynn @66/1 .. No real research done on them, they are just players that can get really low if the swing is working and are showing some decent form recently. No course history used...
