I will be Posting the Format for the "Total Player Bootcamp" very shortly.
First, a note to the eighteen players.
Confirmation e-Mails have already gone out to all 6 of Ed Gidden's picks. Just as well, as they have to "start work" on Monday!
The confirmation e-mails for Team Tuck & Team Matt will be sent out on TUESDAY. Their BootCamps will not be until the two weeks following, so time is not quite so critical.
Next up, The Format for Total Player Bootcamp. Please note, due to the "character limit per Post" on this Forum, I'll have to divide it into 4 or 5 seperate Posts.
All 18 Mentor Picks should read the Format carefully. If you are in any doubt about anything, please ask. I'll be Offline most of Sunday, but if nobody else from TP picks up the Questions, I will reply to them on Sunday night or Monday morning.

We are all in training for bootcamp , Monday at 7pm, it'll be tough.
"Each of the mentor’s 6 team members will be assigned a unique Total Player Sky Poker account with a bankroll of £500 and asked to play a combination of Cash, Sit & Go’s and MTT’s between 7pm and 11pm during a specific 3 day period (Monday to Wednesday) as detailed below. Each Mentor will then analyse his team’s play in this period and subsequently make the decision to drop 3 or more of their team members live on the Mentor’s respective Saturday night show. Each Total Player team member must play the following in their respective time slots across their 3 day period:At least 10 Sit & Go’s at £11+
At least 3 hours of cash table play at £0.25/0.50+ The 8pm Tournament on each of the 3 nights (They will be bought into each tournament, this will not be deducted from their bankroll) Tournament’s and Sit & Go’s played during the time slots must commence before 11pm but can conclude after. The Sit & Go and Cash table requirements can be completed in one night’s session or spread across the 3 days, however, participation in the 8pm tournaments is mandatory. Each team’s mentor will be online during the specific 3 day period: We will provide an msn account for each mentor to their Total Player candidates so that play and strategy can be discussed freely and in a timely manner. Although the above are the minimum requirements for each player, bankroll permitting they can also play as much as they wish at any limits in their allotted periods. It is the player’s responsibility to manage their bankroll of £500, there will be no reload during the Boot Camp Period. Should a player be unsuccessful in their progression to “Bootcamp Phase 2” player any winnings accumulated over their starting balance of £500 will be credited to their personal account within 72 hours: Should they be successful and progress to the next stage of the competition their Total Player account shall be frozen and accumulated funds shall remain in place......."
"......The decision on which players are dropped from each team is at the sole discretion of the respective mentors but will be strongly influenced by a number of factors such as:
Bankroll Management
Longterm Profitability – based on the player’s poker ability displayed in the 3 day period, not necessarily on pure profit and loss in this period.
The ability to adapt their play across all 3 disciplines (Cash, Sit & Go, MTT)
Hand analysis – Each Total Player can submit specific hands to their mentor for review, the Mentor’s will also be picking hands themselves. Candidate’s deadline for hand IDs will be: Ed’s Team: 12pm Thursday 28th January. Matt’s Team: 12pm Thursday 4th February. David’s Team: 12pm Thursday 11th February. Any hands submitted by candidates after their specific deadline will not be submitted to the mentor.
Personal development – The mentor will identify specific areas for each Total Player candidate which he believes require development prior to bootcamp, the Mentor will be looking for evidence that the candidate has developed his game accordingly....."

Ooooh this sounds very exciting. Congrats to all 3 picks last night and good luck to everyone still in. This sounds challenging, hard but ultimately very reqarding and a great chance for me to prove myself.
Congratulations to all who have made it through, I for one am going to have a hard time making a decision on who to vote for as the mentors have picked some excellent players.
Well done to the selections last night, another 3 strong players in the mix good luck all! I have a few questions regarding bootcamp. The Bankroll challenge sounds very exciting....so does this mean during these 3 evenings our mentors will be watching and discussing strategy with all 6 of his picks, and then have to make a judgement based on our play in that time alone? and does total profit in this time count as a factor to whether he drops a player? Also there was talk that in one of the shows, (I think it was Matts last show) that if another player "crushes" one of the TP picks during the bankroll challenge, or if any of the picks are dropped, others will have a chance to take their place. Is this correct or do I have that wrong:) and if this is the case would this BR challenge stage then continue for another week with new TP picks from that team. Am I making any sense here lol, I dont think even I know! Anyway I for one cant wait for Team Matts challenge to begin next week, and good luck to Team Ed this week.

In additon to this question, is the bankroll challenge purely during the specified times or can players sit and build up this roll at all times as players with jobs would obv have less time than those who already do this for a living?
Hi guys, this is my first post on sky poker whoop whoop!! Thanks to Dave for making me one of his three picks in Total Player last night, im a still a bit shocked!! Im looking forward to the challenge, will be a great experience!! Good luck to the other 17 picked as well!! Chow for now!, Dylan!!

Hi Dylan
Welcome to the forum, welcome to team David (the best team with the best players) and good luck with this whole competition.

Thanks Phil, yes very good players in the group and in the competition, looking forward to the experience, haven't been playing online that long so was great to get picked, going back to my roots this afternoon and hitting the live circuit in a tournament lol!! Good luck to you as well mate and im sure I will be talking more with you on the forum and on the tables!!
Hey Dylan, well done on getting picked, bet ur heart was racing in that last 5 mins of the show right? I was nominated on week 2 but didnt make it, it was boxing day when the show was aired, and having checked the forum at 3am when I got in, I knew before watching the repeat of the show that I wasnt selected. This time watching it live, wow was amazing, just the sort of buzz u get from actually playing poker, even bigger in fact.
Anyway Phil thats a gd question about the time periods...I hope my computer doesnt let me down, Im gunna have to play at least 2 tables at once, and sometimes my comp doesnt even allow me to do that.....10 sngs will take at least 4 hours wont it/ alongside hopefully going deep in the main event....Then theres the cash to get in, agh Im glad we're the third week and not the first - see how the others go.lol
The way I read it last night we are free to play all day everyday, but having read over it again, it looks like only the 12 hours of play spread across the 3 days.
Guna have to get some SNG practise in over the next week or so!

Posted by phil12uk
as i read it phil, you can only log in between 7pm and 11pm on 3 specified dates mon - wed, and then on the thursday the mentor will decide on the tp show who to drop. If however you are on a stt or tournament and it over runs past 11pm you can play out the game, you cannot continue to play cash outside of the allotted time. I think this is correct?? oh 1 more point, i believe you will have to multi table, as you will need 10 stt, so this means you will need to play at least 3 of these a night, plus the 8pm mtt and at least and hour of cash. I reckon it would be easier to concentrate on the 10 stt for two of the days and then 3 hours of cash on the other day, but what do i know lol
What happens if we play 3 tables of cash for 1 hour? Does this count as the 3 hours needed? Also, i'm struggling to guess how we can demonstrate good BRM if we have to sit at 50nl minimum with 500?
Hi everyone, I'm Michael Kane ("not a lot of people know that", I know :P) [AKA "Style 2737"]
This is my first post on any of the forums!
Congratulations to "Dohhhhhhh", "Keysersozi" and "Dylan12"
You must be buzzing right now!
I was a bit disappointed to get into David's top 10 and narrowly miss out on the top 3 but it was exciting to watch the show all the same. Good luck to all 18 players!
I wish I'd known about total player earlier as I've only started playing on sky again over the last couple of weeks and so the only show I could have possibly featured in was tonight's. Needless to say, the show is really exciting and a credit to the innovators at Sky as the clear hype surrounding it is due to the format of the competition. Compared to many of the other sponsorship deals available on other online sites (participation in qualification tournaments), this competition is far superior as the weekly format creates excitement for everyone involved! It is also ideal for identifying consistently good players which removes the luck which is inherent in an individual tournament.
How will the "wild card" concept Richard referred to work as I don't know much about it? Is it possible that any mentor could drop a player and replace him/her with any of the top 42 short-listed players? (i.e. top 10 players from the weekly episodes who have missed out. I appreciate that this number may be less than 42 as some players who ultimately got picked could have been in the top ten previously).
Additionally, I stress that I do not have sour grapes but I have to say that on the evidence I seen tonight I genuinely believe that David Tuckman made a mistake as I think I'm a better player than "Dylan12". Although I suppose 1 hand is not enough evidence to go on and maybe Dylan12 showed more promise than myself in his other selected hands.
As to the other 2 selections, I don't have any issues there though I don't necessarily feel that they are better than me.
Finally, I'd just like to commend Sky Poker and its excellent team. I've played on a few online sites and I'm glad I randomly found Sky poker on the TV just over a year ago. It is by far the best site I've played on! Further, I have also learned and improved my game considerably simply from listening to experienced players such as "Tikay" and James (Horton I think??) analyse hands. I would encourage any aspiring top player to watch channel 865, even just for 30 mins here and there. I have never been one to spend much time following professional poker players or watching poker on TV but Sky's coverage and team of analysts can undoubtedly enhance anyone's game.
I'd also like to add that I never realised how tight a playing community there was on sky poker. I only just looked at the forums and blogs last night. I am happy to be part of it and I hope I can contribute. I am really looking forward to the SPT Glasgow leg at the Alea which is an excellent casino and my usual venue for playing anyway. I hope to see some of you there in May and hopefully at Nottingham in September. I'm hoping to be doing post graduate study in New York next year but I'll come back for Nottingham if I make it, lol!
Does anyone know how to make your avatar a cartoon version of yourself? Is this possible as I think I've seen a few people such as "Dohhhhhhh" with this?
Anyway, Good luck to all and I'll see you at the tables! Better get back to the studying now!
Well done to the last three picks, I spoke to Dohh I think a couple of weeks ago and said he would give it everything, so well done for making it mate.
Bit of a TP mtt warm up this afternoon alongside Charlie (flashflush) and I managed to win the 3pm tourney. Nice to get the winning feel back Posted by phil12uk
Yeah well played in that Phil, it really looks like the Total Player candidates are showing what they can do, with last weeks primo being HU between 2 Total players, and now myself and Phil playing 2 seperate tourneys and winning them both.
