Uhhhhhh. It's nice to be back playing but some very sick hands indeed. Did enjoy alot of the banter talk though. So i played 10MTTs tonight, 0 cashes, and a total of 2 head prizes which came to a whopping £3,56. I would post some hands to see if there would be any help as to where i went wrong, but i go through the hands and they are all standard. Majority being myself getting outdrawn :-(

    - 6,30 Rebuy - have 7 8 of spades on 9s 6s 2d flop and we get it in vs top set, no good!

    - 6,45 BH - have AK hearts vs Ks10d all in pre, flop comes 9 J Q all diamonds, hits flush aswell on turn, no good!

    - 7,15 DTD 1 - have AA on Js Qs 7x : 3 way to flop, decided to go with my last 13bb, vs As2s and J7, no good!

    - 7,30 £200gtd - have AJ vs A10 all in pre, no good!

    - 7,45 DTD 2 - 1st hand, I have AK on A K x J and guy is donk min betting into me each street and snap calls big raise. Turn comes a 9 which is essentially a brick as Q 10 got there anyway. Turns out he overplayed 99 and gets there, no good!

    - 8,05 BH - have AK vs AQ suited, no good!

    - 8,30 DTD3 - 2nd hand in, flopped set on dry board, turn completes a gutshot and he gets there, no good!

    - 8,30 Megastack - 2nd hand in, flop came 4 6 7, 2 spades. Notes failed me with my set, No good!

Mini and 9,45 Speed I was crushed in a cooler situation really - 6bbs and pocket 3s in the cutoff. And JK vs AK on K high flop. Opted not to rebuy because I was getting slightly affected. 10 MTTs and 0 cashes is a bit depressing but I had some decent fun. Not my night, onto the turboes tomorrow!

I did inflict a bad beat on Vespa though, but its fair to say it didn't really even my night out :-(. Variance!!

In Response to Monday 23rd June:
Have an interesting story to share later regarding a police incident this morning. Run well everyone!
    Posted by Matt237
So back to this - I went down to Tesco express earlyish about 9,45am to get early lunch because I had a filling to be done at the dentist at 12,30 (chipped tooth at a barbeque), and to walk down to Tesco from my house you go through an alleyway with an infants school on the left. Anyway there had been reportedly a mysterious man (You know what i mean, i can't type the word on here) going around the schools in studley (there are 4). I walked passed a strange looking man who was just stood by the infant school gate with a bag. He quickly hid something as I walked passed him. I turned around to look back and he cut me one hell of a look. It was some sort of nursery activity day and any parents that belonged to the kids were in the grounds so I thought him standing there watching was a little odd.

So about 50 yards from the main road and Tesco, 2 police officers came up and said have you seen this man - described as about 40ish with a beard etc, which was exactly like the guy I walked passed. Directed them to him and proceeded to grab my lunch, as I walked home I passed the police car and they were just shutting him in, hot policewoman said thanks and gave me a thumbs up, felt very nice :). These people are sick B***tards.

    A night of near misses.

4 MTTs and again no cashes. All standard stuff, nothing to really talk about. Good performances but couldn't win/hold that one hand which makes the difference.

    Speed - 20/88 11 paid. QQ < AK
    Main - 67/451 52 paid. A9 < QJ
    Mini - 73/504 55 paid. 77 < AQ
    8:05 BH - 28/234 26 paid. AK < AQ

Returns of £2.63 in heads make this a -£22.67 MTT night. Also played 1 SNG where i came 4th so -£5.50.
Enjoyed it though, with semi deep runs in all 4 mtts. Entertaining nights work.

23 without a cash now, back to the standard swings :-)

8 days since last post, blimey. Just been a little bit busy enjoying myself post exam period obviously.

Memorial game was Saturday just gone - 3 years ago I lost a very close friend (story is on page 2/3). We were hit with a horrible storm. I struggle to play football nowadays due to my BAHA (Bone Anchored Hearing Aid), but the fact it rained so heavily made it even worse. The BAHA processor is not waterproof - and replacements are over £3000. Solution? Play with it off. I put my 5% human hearing to the test in the position of left back - it was not easy and one experience i will never forget. Managed just 1 half though, which I was quite proud with. Just resulted in a very sore Sunday hahaha. We lost 6-4 overall - which isn't too bad, considering it was a squad of 14/15 unfit 18 year olds v a bunch of coaches that coach 2/3 times a week, plus had been training in preparation for this. Despite the weather it was a fantastic occasion and the family were chuffed with everything once more - that was the important thing. Another large chunk was raised for the QE childrens hospital aswell.

Our year 13 prom was Tuesday - fantastic night it was. Prom was held at a beautiful hotel located in Binley (Coventry) called Coombe Abbey. Food/Drink/Location was stunning. May have gone overboard with the drink too early and passed out on the coach taking us to our afterprom party in Leamington, but it was a fun night nonetheless :-)

Poker hasn't been going too well unfortunately. Since my great result in the turbo tournaments, i have played 48mtts, and came out with 1 min cash and 3 head prizes in total. Rather disappointing downswing which has affected my confidence slightly. Haven't fallen out of love with the game however. Gone over a few of my plays and haven't really done too much wrong, just making the plays at the wrong times and the cards are not coming down in my favour. Just think i'll spend a few days off enjoying the climax of Wimbledon, The World Cup and this weekends Super League meetings. I ended June up over £700 which was a great addition to ending my exams :-)

Big day tomorrow - Conference fixtures are released. Very excited for this forthcoming season. But for now I look forward to catching up with everyone again, will be railing as usual but probably won't play till atleast next Tuesday. Run good everyone.

Some bookmakers have started releasing non league prices, will have to get some tips up soon as i have been requested too. Enjoyed the quarter finals of the WC, and the Wimbledon finals, thought the doubles final was really entertaining. Bit gutted for Bouchard in the womens, but she'll win it one day. Hope for a Federer win :-)

Came 2nd in a game i played at a pub with some mates last night. About 40-50 players were there and created a decent pool. Ended up picking up £60 for my troubles off my fiver. Lost heads up after being 14:1 behind, clawed back to about 2.5:1 behind and got nut flush draw in on flop vs 2 pair, made the flush but the chap rivered a full house. Small confidence booster going into tonights schedule.

Was supposed to be going out to Leamington with a Czech friend who is departing us but he forgot to turn up. Silly lad

    Well played sir!

Tonight could have gone alot worse, but was recovered by a decent last hour. We are still down, but not a very big sum.

The MTTs were a shocker. 6,45 BH/7,35 Freebuy/8,05 BH all went quite badly. The main and mini went ok but lost big flips in both and resulted in exits.

Most of my money back tonight were from the sit and go area of the site. I played 2 six-max SNGs and came a 1st and a 2nd. £39 from an £11 for first, and £10,50 from an £5,50 for second. I played 2 £5,25 heads up games and won them both. DYMs - not so great, cashed 2/7 which was very poor.

An interesting hand i have here from the £11 Six-Max SNG, on the bubble with a player all in, obviously we like to check it down to eliminate but the board came out pretty nicely and the villain starts betting. Think i played it fine from my eyes as villain is quite tight and i don't expect him to fire turn with air whatsoever. Maybe too passive to c/c turn but i like my river play however. Just at the time it seemed like i played it badly but on the surface it looks OK. I can't really play for stacks because with Pokey in i am never getting called by anything other than a flush.

Had a roller coaster of an afternoon but ended up a winning session.

    Play -

    5 x Heads up games (£27,50) - Return £20 (2/5)
    11 x DYM (£60,50) - Return £60 (6/11)
    1 x SNG (£5,50) - Return £19,50 (1st place)
    1 x Russian Roulette (£11) - Return £20 (1st place)

    Overall -

    £104,50 - Return £119,50. (+£15)

    -------------------------------------------------------

The RR game was by mistake but got away with it :-) (Don't ask how i messed that up lol!)

Started off 1/6 on DYMs, and 0/2 heads up and thought it's one of them days. Stuck at it and we climbed out of the hole. The SNG was vs 5 fishy players, had some feeling i was always going to win that one.

    -------------------------------------------------------

Tonight will be standard MTT schedule minus main/mini. Throwing in DYMs too. Hope for another profitable session, run well all.

Well. Another rollercoaster session but for different reasons.

    Play -

    20 x DYM (£110) - Return £90 (9/20)
    2 x Heads up games (£10,50) - Return £10 (1/2)
    18,45 BH (£5,75) - Return £1,88 (1 head prize)
    19,35 Freebuy (£2,20) - Return £0 (5th 3 paid)
    20,05 BH (£2,20) - Return £3,94 (4 head prizes) (I also was the bubble)
    20,30 Megastack (£5,50) - Return £122,55 (1st place)

    Overall -

    £136,15 - Return £228,37 (+£92,22)

    -------------------------------------------------------

    Daily review -

    £240,75 - Return £347,87. (+£107,22)

    -------------------------------------------------------

9/20 DYMs was quite poor i feel. I ended up bubbling 10 out of the 20, with 8 instances of getting my chips in good and ahead. Don't think i'm being too aggressive on the bubble of DYMs, just baring ICM in mind.

Megastack took awhile to get going, but with about 7 till the money and a 10bb stack i took off - and knocked 3 people out before the money and ended up chip leader. Managed to fold my way to the final table - there were 3/9 players away at the tables and 2 people on my table were going crazy so from an ICM perspective i made sure i wasn't busting before the away guys. Heads up vs MADPATDOC was a tricky one, solid aggressive player and i wasn't really sure whether i had an edge or not. My breakthrough hand was a gamble, he 3b jammed 24eff and i snapped off with Q10 of clubs - He turns over 55 and we get there on the turn, after flopping a tonne of outs. Really happy with this bink, Made my night a profit and a substancial one.

Enjoyed poker today, even the DYM grinding.

Had a very bad start to the evening but managed to recover it to a £30 loss, about £20 of that being from MTTs.

As far as the £5 DYMs went last night, we started off very poorly at 3/13 cashes, but managed to pull back to 16/30 by the end of my session. Overall that leaves us at 31/61 which is a little short at the mo but hopefully it will soon improve after some good sessions. Was good to run into a few regulars at the table, including Stuarty117 who is a bit of a curse to me, and Kadoom. Always nice to chat in the middle of a grind.

Tonight is just consisting of DYMs, with the 796m Freeroll and the Mega Stack. Run well everyone.

An average evening really, but we've ended the day on a £2.50 profit.

    Play -

    24 x DYM (£132) - Return £140 (14/24)
    20,30 Megastack (£5,50) - Return £0
    7pm 796m Hand Freeroll (£0) - Return £0

    -------------------------------------------------------

Another ok DYM session completed, once again started off badly but i'm still enjoying it. I thrive off putting people in sick ICM spots lol :-). Received some very unpolite chat from a few people tonight on the tables, which is a bit disappointing as i like a good chat. Been a fun night all in all so i can't complain.

    -------------------------------------------------------

We are now 45/85 DYM cashes, which is slowly getting better after a poor start. I aim to complete around 50 tomorrow, as the girlfriend is off to Alton Towers and with my medical background i'm unable to go :-(. Look forward to some more play tomorrow. Leamington kick off pre season tomorrow away at Stafford but i'm not bothering - too far for a friendly!
  • edited July 2014

    TY for the mention

Enjoy reading. Always makes poker even more better when you have a chat at the tables that's what its all about.

PS I am not a curse I have cashed everytime when you have played on my table lol :)

  • edited July 2014
I am not in a very good mood.

Its very easy to say you're running badly but tonight some of the hands have been sickening. Then alongside that, there was a lot of abuse around on the chat tonight, and with the addition of a couple of people typing colluding-style messages in the chatbox, it really did my head in tonight.

We have ended down. About £40.

    Play -

    50 x DYM (£275) - Return £240 (24/50)
    1 x Main Event (£4,80 Satellite entry) - Return £0
    1 x Mini Event (£5,50) - Return £0

    -------------------------------------------------------

That leaves us 69/135 DYM cashes, which is a bit meh. Its not where i want to be, but it could be worse.

    -------------------------------------------------------

Don't really have much else to say, although if anyone knows if there is a report abuse sort of section in game so we can report chat please let me know, it's not nice.

A very contrasting evening to Saturday.

    Play -

    1 x DTD1 (£2,20) - Return £0
    1 x DTD2 (£1,10) - Return £0 (Bubble +1)
    1 x DTD3 (£2,20) - Return £0
    1 x 797m Freeroll (£0) - Return £8,85 (min cash, lost big flip QQ<AK)
    1 x Megastack (£5,50) - Return £103.50

    -------------------------------------------------------

Since last Wednesday the Megastack has ran 3 times, and we have won it twice. I knew as the bubble burst that I would win, just had confidence in myself and made the big calls at the right time. Even when I got my chips in behind it was effectively almost a flip. Played really good stuff tonight, ran pretty good also but kept losing flips at the wrong times which were my downfalls in the DTDs. Run good all, back to MTT schedule for Tuesday night, then DYMing again later this week.

Enjoyed tonight, didn't really put volume in but I watched a good friend do extremely well in the main tonight so very happy for them.

    Play -

    1 x Turbo Main (£11) - Return £0
    1 x Turbo Mini (£5,50) - Return £0
    6 x DYM (£33) - Return £40 (4/6)

    -------------------------------------------------------

We lost £9,50 but it was one of those nights where i was just looking for an entertaining evening. Few DYM games went well so clawed a small bit of the loss back. Just really happy to see my friend do well and I enjoyed the last 2 hours of the 861 show with Channings analysis, especially in the cash hour.

Off to football tomorrow evening - for a pre season friendly where we are visited by a Birmingham City side. They brought a decent outfit last year and we play them every year, so its always a good occasion. Back to rail from 10pm onwards so any friends that are deepish in the main/mini/mega i'll be chasing you down :-). Run well everyone

No play day. Been a bit of a difficult day for me.

Enjoyed the 861 show tonight, and the super league which ended in a bit of a disaster with Kevin Sinfields stupidity costing the Rhinos a massive win and bragging rights, ah well draw was fair.

Having the weekend off - i feel these every other weekend breaks do me good - freshens myself up and i usually come back strong on the monday. Leamington entertain Cheltenham first team tomorrow evening so looking forward to that. Never really anticipate pre season so much but its good to have the season back and only 3 weeks away from the big opener.

Poker plans will resume next week with the DTD/Megastack monday night as ever. Run good everyone, will be on the rail

    Small update before tonights session.

Managed to obtain something called Special Consideration for all of my A2 exams/coursework pieces. Basically my results will be increased by a certain percentage due to disabilities/absences all that sort of stuff which has given myself an unfair advantage. To give you an idea of why i have been awarded this percentage - from September '13 - May '14 i had 3 major operations and my attendance at registration was 54%. I don't feel I need the additional marks but you know it's there to be taken!

Just last week I became a part of the forum DTD admin team which is quite exciting, as it is another opportunity to get involved with the community and to help run the most successful forum game is a mini privilege :-). I play these games weekly anyway as I am a part of the mighty titans, and its always a great night of banter/entertaining poker.

Also mini apology to those at the £55 9pm BH final table and anyone who was on the rail on friday night/saturday morning for my language, bit unlike me to kick off but felt the unknown railee was very disrespectful to the final tablists and myself, so thought i would stick up for my fellow players.

Run good everyone, back to report later on hopefully a good session!

We have made the unbelieveable profit of 40p. Profit is profit though, but could have been better. Few DYM river cards were not my friend, and had villain dominated in DTD3 and he flopped a straight. Ah well enjoyable nights work, had fun clashing with Hhyftrftdr in DTD1. I don't think i've been this mad ever playing poker.

DYMs tonight were rifed with colluders, but as i try to report them via chat my client kept freezing and had to restart and ending up losing a few chips in the process. I eventually reported them, i didn't really take much notice of their action until I was single tabling then i realised how obvious it was. I hope action will be taken against them. I don't know if I was in too many games with them but hope it is investigated nonetheless.

Here is an example of some of the chip dumping taking place. I'm not going crazy right? There were multiple hands like this.

    Play -

    20 x DYM (£110) - Return £90 (9/20)
    1 x Main Sat (£3,60) - Return £0
    4 x PLO8 DYM (£13.20) - Return £6 (1/4)

    -------------------------------------------------------

Fair to say tonight didn't go very well. I didn't play that well but not that badly either. Variance towards the end of the session killed me, with myself losing my last 5 DYMs. Main event sat was going ok but got 44 in vs 66 on a 2 3 J board, for the turn to come down a 4 but bloke rivered the 6 for the higher set. DYMs weren't really packed with regs tonight which is what we want but those fishy calls were getting there more often than they should, and these players kept waking up with big hands more often than they should. One of those nights!

On an extra note i gave a few PLO8 games a go just for a break from NLH grinding and it was actually really refreshing and good fun. Definitely will give more a go in the future. I think tomorrow will be reverting to MTT evening session and playing DYMs in the afternoon if i'm around.

Really looking forward to a decent week-end of poker with myself not out on Saturday, certainly cannot wait for the debut of the 3max for some amazing dynamics. Hopefully we can run better than last couple of days, confidence hasn't been affected too much however which is always a good thing.

102/196 DYMs now which is not good and has been brought down with a 15/35 in my last few sessions. Nearing the 200 mark and its 110/200 to break even (NOT INCLUDING RAKE BACK) just to give those an idea who don't like doing quick maths haha. Including the points gained 108/200 games is a £1 loss. Hopefully as we play more overtime it's gunna even out and will be +ev overtime like i hoped and expected.

    Run good everyone.
