    Hi Matt,

Wat great to see you giving the PLO8 DYM's a spin last night.

    Great fun, them, eh?

    Good bunch of players, too.

Happy to confirm Robert is still hopeless.

He's got a nice dog though. Best not argue, eh?

Hi everyone been a little while.

I did play on Friday but i had to abandoned my session due to life issues - only had 5bb in mega stack anyway. Someone close to me had a heart attack and it kinda ruined my weekend. Thankfully the hospital is only a 10 run/2 min bus ride. Just stuck to railing in the evenings i was around.

Monday DTDs were great fun as ever and it was my first proper week in charge of helping the admin team which was great. I performed very well finishing 14/166 [DTD1], 22/164 [DTD2] and 4/100 [DTD3] which is quite impressive, and my best 2 total of 18 managed to place 3rd on the leaderboard for weekly prizes which means i get to freeroll next weeks DTDs. More importantly my high place finishes along with craigcu12s and Dangerdais (wd guys) meant my team won the DTD monthly league again. Very happy. The mega stack didn't go to well but i was just happy with how i performed overall. I even managed top 25 in that, really getting to grips with the patient structure a bit more, compared to how chaotic the BHs are and even the normal structured MTTs can take a while.

This morning i got my braces off after 2 and a half years (yes that's not a typo). Treatment was originally put off due to ear issues being the priority but it feels great to have teeth that look relatively normal. A few people i have seen today cannot believe the transformation. I would post pictures here but i have had issues with my instagram account and i can't seem to apply them via phone.

I think last night my overall profit was £13, which was just a bonus because Monday nights are just purely the most entertaining night of poker and even if i end on a negative, usually have a cracking time at the tables. Was good to clash with a few forum regs aswell, mainly Jac and Craigcu12. I would post down Fridays results but they are not available at the minute but BR change was approximately -£30. I only played 1 DYM on friday which was bubbled so that will be added to the sample.

Turbo Tuesday tonight again always look forward to this. Some regs hate it but i like it - probably because i dont mind getting my chips in the middle. You know, us young kids are fearless ... ;-)

    Run good everyone.

wp last night matt think i was on your table for a while in one of the dtds thanks for all the work you & the other guys all put in & run well tonight

Last week didn't really go great.

TOTP on saturday - i came 2nd for £30. (thanks a tonne for the nominations)

Tonights DTDs were ruined by the sky forum being down and i was in charge of results and the list took over 2 hours to finish! Atleast i freerolled them, so only lost £5,50 playing the megastack.

I'll post up some monthly stats tomorrow but definitely another profit month.

Will write a proper post tomorrow, just busy doing the admin stuff for DTD, been a very hard evening.

Unlucky tonight Matt but congrats on coming 2nd in TOTP.

Been a very quiet week and i've been awfully busy hence no posts. Managed to play tonight and I ran pretty well but didn't come out with much profit. Went deep in a monstrous field of 312 in the 6:45 £5,75 BH and got owned in a few coolers and then my exit was KK into A10 which flops the Ace. Ended up 8th so a deep run resulting in £47,15 actually receiving slightly more in head prizes than the ladder. Never really fished for them either because I don't do that, constantly dealt big pairs and the shorties get dealt a hand which they have to go with. Some life eh?

    Matt23708£23.40 + £23.85 Head Prizes7
The mini I never really got going, Decided to go with Q9 spades 12bb vs a button raise out of a reasonably awkward stack so thought I have more fold equity than normal. Instead he tanks and for some reason types 'spew' in the chat box, and eventually calls with A8. Board bricked.

200gtd I doubled up very early in a funny hand where I raise SB AK clubs and gets a call from a fish in the BB. Board comes 2 4 5 with 2 clubs. We are 80bb deep and I get min raised which is always interesting at the lower stakes but as I have flopped massive I decided to put in another bet, which gets flatted. Turn brings the 4 of clubs giving myself the nut flush but also pairs the board. I bet really small in relative to the pot to allow a river shove or to induce an over the top, as I am fairly confident I am ahead here vs a fish. River is a brick like an offsuit 9 or something. I jam the river for value and get snap called - Have a slight sick taste for a moment expecting to see 45/sets that housed but he turns over K4. I do love this game sometimes when the run out is so favourable. My exit was a flip JJ < AK about 18bb effective, nothing really I could do here. Wasn't too far off the cash though.

8,15 £5 deep stack is always a decent tournament and the field is relatively mixed with a lot of recs taking a punt and a few regs that play it. Never really got going here too, my exit was pretty unlucky getting 20bb in with AQ blind vs blind against a player I think is very stationary pre flop who turned up with AJ. Flop was kind but he got there on the turn. River bricked out so gg.

    -------------------------------------------------------

July was another great month of profit for me, not as healthy as the previous months but after how I ran in the 2nd half of last month i'm pretty happy. Total number was £83, this includes TOTP game as I was nominated for July so decided to include it into the July figures. This included 2 megastack wins.

    -------------------------------------------------------

My DYM sample hit 200 tonight and after starting so badly I have reached 109/200 which is 1 buy in down excluding points, but including points, I have made £4,50 which hopefully can only increase.

    -------------------------------------------------------

Football season started yesterday and as expected, Leamington lost their first game at home to a very organised and bankrolled Guiseley. This side always do very well in this division and to only lose 1-0 is not a disaster. We had a clear penalty turned down aswell so welcome back to the new season to the officials, although it was the assistants fault this time. One of those when you take a short corner, 1 - 2 around the closing defender and cross it in, and a defender jumps with his arms up "to protect the face" although his arms were above his head! Big big big game on Tuesday night away at a well known Hednesford Town. We hate them, they hate us, couldn't be more set up for a night midweeker game, plus its a local derby night. Cannot wait.

    -------------------------------------------------------

In terms of poker over the next 2 weeks I don't have access to stable internet so I probably won't appear much however I will play the DTDs still and may appear some nights but I'm still rather busy. Not much volume has been put in this month either. I'll write up something tomorrow after the DTDs + doing the results. Often have some interesting material from playing those games. Run good everyone

Good luck to those @ the UKPC this week/weekend. Just remember today (Thursday) is also A level results day so a life changing day for many across the UK including myself. Was going to come over to Notts to say hello and have a few drinks with people otherwise. Will make a post later.

Not one to share things too often other than with people I trust, but it's fair to say today has brought excellent news. After missing 1/3rd of Year 12 and 1/2 of Year 13, I have managed to excelled in my A Levels. I have decided to choose Wolverhampton Uni to study my Maths - I felt I would feel more at home here as it is a very deaf friendly University and it specialises in support for these students. I start in 27 days, really cannot wait to embark on this new journey.

Congrats on the excellent A level results Matt. I'm sure Wolvs Uni is gonna be a great experience for you. Don't let the combo of studying and partying keep you away from the tables and the forum tho. Well done you!!

Well done Matt on your results; Kudos on your degree choice,  although a maths teacher I knew once told me maths is easy as long as you follow the rules which was amusing as this fella broke them all outside the classroom,  but that is a whole other story ;-)

I'm glad you will have support whilst you are there, especially if you are moving away from home and all things familiar.

    You will have a riot!

    Pudd x

    Cheers for the messages guys.

Currently relaxing with relief and going over everything I need to do to make sure i'm 100% prepared for Uni. Tomorrow I am off on our 2nd away day this season to Bradford (Park Avenue). Last season this came was a cold monday night in January so hopefully I will enjoy this one a bit more. Getting there quite early although I don't really think there is much interesting to explore at Bradford. Looking forward to it, then a quiet sunday followed by DTD night monday. Have a good weekend everyone, and enjoy the start of the PL season!

Well done to Tommy/chicknMelt on cashing UKPC, keep it going chaps!

TommyD Bust out off the UKPC this morning in 33rd place! Haven't a clue regarding Chickn's status!
  • edited August 2014
Great to see chicknmelt on the UKPC Final table! Joesman1 too. Tommy did well seemingly to finish 33rd if he folded to 5bb on the bubble. Top performances.

Really enjoyed my day out at Bradford today, lovely people and the weather was good. Had several pints owed and i got in the game for free so all in all a quality day out watching my football team with 7 drinks costed me £3. We lost 2-1 but Bradford Park Avenue are a decent side so the result was sort of expected. Some cracking goals thrown in the mix too. Horsfall stadium is a funny place - I think it's an abandoned athletics stadium which has become the new home of this famous football side. There is one main stand but that's about it.

I am back properly tonight, having taken a decent break from the game in order to prepare for other things that will be happening. My Uni course has now been confirmed and accomodation is booked. Grants have all been sorted other than my DSA (Disabled students allowance) but that will be sorted soon so on Uni side of things I am all ready for October 6th start.

Went to Lowestoft yesterday for bank holiday monday football. Its supposed to be local fixtures on this day in non league but we are one of the nearer sides for them despite it being a 4 hour minibus trek. Really enjoyable day though, good pubs, lovely people, and we came away with a point against a good side so all in all it was well worth it. Strange little place though, north side seems to be more industrial/fishing port type place but there was a beach further down the coast.

Look forward to getting back in poker mood really. Good line-up for the show tonight too.

Well well well had good fun tonight. Some very bad outdraws but overall happy with my play and ended up a whopping £3.80.

Money came from the main event - Had to get my chips in first alot which I don't mind, steals are ok and I had a very nice table which included a few players raise folding at around 110 left when it was getting shallow. Managed to steal into the last 30, made a very very questionable peel when I should have either shoved or folded but I had a plan with it. Will post it before tomorrows session.

Other than that there was nothing to shout about. Got a set in vs overpair on flop only for the river to crush my heart 3 off the money in 200gtd for chip lead but it happens.

Highlight of my night was my first ever royal flush in said tournament above. My call can be ripped into but it was to induce v this villain in particular. Again, will post tomorrow.

Time to relax and enjoy the last hour of the show

This was my first ever royal flush. The call pre is questionable but vs this villain I was not raise folding. (Notes + history + tilt etc etc etc).
