    Appeal.

Just say you visited twice that day with times and dont give any more details.

    Hi Pal,

Hope you Penny and young Harry have a super Christmas.

Because you genuinely weren't there all that time, I would tell them to check their cameras when you left the first time and when you arrived the second time.

You can probably give them an approximate time for each.

This is only an invoice for breach of contract, and under the circumstances I can't see how this could be enforced.

The other option is to ignore it but then you may always be waiting for the threat of legal action, however undeserved, so I wouldn't recommend that in your case.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

If you didn't park there for two hours straight then it's an easy appeal. if you did park there for at least two hours -- which you haven't really made clear -- then it's not an appeal. Quite simple. Going into McDonald's isn't the point - it's using their car parking space for longer than allowed for no charge.

Ah, I thought that I'd said. I was there on each occasion for approx 5 minutes.
Should be able to get it sorted

    Quick review of year.
It's felt like a quiet years poker wise. The last 2/3 years there have been trips to Vegas, Dublin and then the SPTs and UKPCs. This year just a lot of drunk poker at Derby and one weekend away in the Algarve.

I got off to a flier and was looking good for my 10k target. Live in particular went well. I was 3k up after my first 5 visits to Derby for the rebuy and a bit of cash. Live plateaued a bit and I bumbled along online.

Unless something dramatic happens I'm not going to make the 10k but I'm still happy. £8410 up is consistent with my last few years of playing and I'm quite content with that.

I've been really lazy over the last couple of months and not put any volume in.

Real life has been the opposite to poker. It's been very busy. Had some sad things happen personally and it's been horrible to see some really good friends have some very tough times.

Some really good stuff too. Love being a Dad and that just gets better and better. New house is great. Also got a fantastic group of poker friends who I chat to daily. It's quite weird how it seems perfectly normal to be on Skype to someone railing them at 1am or messaging non stop in a group. One thing a couple of months ago still tickles me. I noticed the phone icon and decided to do a group call. It was probs about midnight. Jimi answered and his wife asked where the hell it was. He told her it was Paul the chap she met from England. She replied "Oh, i didn't realise that it was a different time zone down there"

Algarve as mentioned was great as mentioned. Added bonus that the whole weekend was paid for and some after the first night.

Poker I imagine will be similar to this year. Plod along and try and make a few quid. I've long since realised my level and rather than build a bankroll to play higher I just like to use it as my fun money. It pays for a half decent car and some golf clubs and the odd Pringle sweater.

Work will be interesting. I've been told that I won't be able to continue in my present job for too much longer. It's quite physical.
I do have the option to go back into management. 60 hour weeks including Saturdays and then caring for Penny and looking after Harry does fill me with dread though to be honest. Maybe I should just do what my Mum said. Go and get another job. Hmmm, ok Mum, there's stacks of jobs out there for a relatively poorly qualified 41 year old that will pay me the same as I'm on now :)

Maybe I should just go pro at Dyms. That is a joke btw :)

It'll all come out in the wash i guess.

    Have a great Christmas everyone

Perhaps put some of those first night winnings towards buying a thesaurus?

That's a great review Paul, & congrats on a lumpy profit again. Not a bad hobby that.

I'll be doing something similar, (smaller numbers.....) & will also maybe start a thread to encourage others to take an honest look at their poker year.

Cyber bullying is rife on the internet. Many people will experience it at some stage. I myself have been a victim of this. Just this morning I have been singled out once more.

Denigration – This is when someone may send information about another person that is fake, damaging and untrue.

I have been in consultation with top notch solicitors, Bromley and Bromley. Office junior Adam believes that I have a very strong  case. Worryingly the brains of the operation, Natalie, has a few concerns.

Firstly, the perpetrator may be considered too old for prosecution.
Secondly, the comments made are actually true.

    I'll keep you updated.

    .......
Live poker tonight. Looking forward to it.

As requested I consulted the Saga legal team and they have confirmed that said perpetrator is indeed....

    Eh?

I'm guessing you don't read much, right?

Actually, ignore my riposte - Pump Percy will be along in due course & he'll do it properly.

PS - HNY Paul & Paul. And Percy.

Happy New Year to all Sky people

Let's hope that Sky keep the forum going. I think they will but it's largely down to us I imagine. The post count has definitely declined over the last couple of years. There are so many different ways of communicating nowadays that make it a struggle for forums. The forum has been great for me and I've made some really good friends from it.

I'm going to make an effort to post on other threads more rather than just reading them.

Looking forward to 2017. What's going to happen?

Firstly, Derby will make it to the Premier league at last. Forest and Burton will get relegated which is a shame.
We'll be going to Menorca. That one is even more definite. Booked that last night.
Hopefully will get away with the same friends from here again.
Golf lessons will end up being a success and I'll get down to 7 again.
I'll make the right decision regarding work and it will all be fine.
Snagging issues with house will finally end.
I will be healthier and will also stop trying to get to the same weight as hhy.
Harry will stop putting play doh on the wall. Hmmm, that ones failed already. Hes just done it.
I'll stay away from getting into pointless spats with people on forums.

    Poker
I would obviously love to have a big live mtt win but more realistically I would be happy to just repeat the results of the last few years. I'm ok at poker. I'm a million miles away from the better players on here but I've found an area where I can make a little bit of money each year. I shouldn't be complacent and take this for granted.
To make some money playing a game I enjoy (mostly) is the nuts.

    Have a great year everyone

Well not really the start to the year that I was after
Played the Derby rebuy tonight. No good in the comp and then played pretty badly at cash. Had a chance to breakeven but got rivered for a £280 pot.
Went as low as £450 down but recovered slightly and lost £290 on the night.

    Def a luck game :)
Lad who limp called pre v me for £12 with q10 and got his last £56 in on the turn with 3rd pair and then made trips on the river walked away with about 1k by the end.

Did have a nice pizza though

    Bah
Back to square one online tonight. Really happy with how I played my dyms just not so happy with how I ran. Lost £100 overall so the bad start to the year continues. These things happen though so not worried. If I play like I did tonight then I'll have more winning nights than losing ones.

1200 points tonight as well which we all know is the most important thing :)

Played the main and the mini as well. Had a good little run in the main bit lost a bvb flip which was fine. After midnight I played a little cash as well which was silly.

  • edited January 2017
Shocking start to year continued last night I'm afraid
    Lost another £170

Still actually happy with how I'm playing. Losing  3 flips on bubble of 3 consecutive £55s for example didn't help.
A couple of bizarre things as well. Reflex is all in for his last 600 in bb. Massive stack in sb doesn't make up the blindand gives Reflex a walk and 2 mins later I'm busting it

Palace watched my last game. He was as surprised as me when there was a big hand and rather than putting the guy all in. 200 chips were left behind. Player spun the 200 back up winning 4 flips and then when I had to a shove I lost :)

Played 4 mtts and didint get anywhere

Still, gotta shittload of points :)
  • edited January 2017

Ha, same here Paul. I'm dropping a few bob almost every day, but that's how it goes sometimes. You'll be fine.

How many points have you got so far this week?

I'm on a measly 1,231, though that's a lot at my level. At his rate, I'm gonna need the Rewards Payment to cover my losses chasing the Rewards Payment....

  • edited January 2017
Yep, me too. I've had two winning days in the last five weeks. Yesterday I bought a punchbag. It's helping, so far. Run better, dude(s).

which after just playing the 3 nights properly so far this month is ok

Well I thought it was going to be another shoddy night. I was losing a lot.
Went on the rampage at the end and somehow ended £35 up for night. Didn't play well tonight. How weird it can be. Played well last couple of nights and lost a bunch. Played ok at casino and lost a bloody big bunch. Played poorly tonight and won some money.

Got called a goon which was fun.

Had a little rant after keeping schtum the last couple of nights.

JonnyRKD called me the pits which i think was tongue in cheek and referring to something from a while ago. I like Jonny.

Felt a bit guilty when on the bubble of one game i couldnt help writing 'lol' at the result of an all in. The player who had lost the hand had been doing pretty darn well v me on bubbles. This time he turned a straight and still lost the hand. I wasn't laughing at him losing. I was just thinking that the one time i want him to win because i'm not involved, he loses. He was obv the covering player.
Apology has been sent and accepted :)

Think i need a night off tomorrow. Pub sounds good.

    FA Cup
Couldn't care less now. Used to one of the highlights of the season listening to the 3rd round draw on the wireless at 12.30 on a Monday

Golf tomorrow morning. Got pass out.

Harry lifted himself up last night in the bathroom and caught his neck on the corner of the shower screen. Bit of blood. Not nice
    ....
Penny has to do her PIP forms. PIP replaced DLA and is disgusting. They essentially turn down every claim in the first instance. About 8 years ago she was given DLA for life. Now she has to go through it all again. She will lose at first which is ridiculous. She has an illness that can only deteriorate.
She's helped a few friends with this before and is very sharp. She knows what they want to hear. That makes me even more annoyed in a way. 2 people with exactly the same conditions could get entirely different decisions made on them. To be penalised for not knowing how to fill the forms in correctly is plain wrong.
She may well win on appeal but is likely to get less than she receives now

Love the diary jac and penny has my sympathies concerning the pip forms and medicals I hate them with a passion best of luck
  • edited January 2017
I can also sympathise with your issue regarding PIP. My missus has rheumatoid arthritis and can hardly walk when she has a bad flair up. She has to take medication for life, her hands and feet are becoming disfigured.....yet she can't get PIP while somebody else can fake a bad back and get accepted.

The whole system is wrong. It's disgusting.

Without a doubt the best cup competition in world football. I love the FA Cup just as much now as I've ever done.
Waiting for the 4th round draw is one of the highlights of the season for me.

    Hi Jac,

Can't quite recall why I called you the pits but it was about the same time you got called a goon!

Wasn't related to anything in particular but deffo a joke I assure!

A good read as ever, see you at the tables.
