Hooked
Afternoon all, A starting hand that I'm sure has probably been debated a lot here before: Jacks. How to play them? It was discussed a little by James 'Artigan on the Primo show this week, 'jacks never win'. For me they never even get to showdown - you're asking for trouble if you shove with them preflop, the best you can…

A Question for Tikay
Hi tikay as discussed earlier i am just wondering how strong are suited connecters in a tournament game? I appreciate you taking the time to answer this as i respect your a busy man! Also is their any chance you could get me as a featured player? i would be very gratefull! Once again thanks

how do you judge best time to be aggressive
As some of you are aware i was a guest last night and in the primo, for the first hour i had one playable hand really 3 hands in and won with jacks. The rest of the hands were either complete rubbish or so marginal it did not warrant calling the raise. I got knocked out with AK and the error i made i am fully aware of. My…

2-7 triple draw again....
in a 3 handed coup after the deal in position with both other players drawing at least 2 should i always stand pat with a dealt 10?

2-7 triple draw spot from a while back
So after my long hiatus I decided to play a little TD. I'm too lazy to make names anonymous. My only read on blinddate was that I've seen him limp before, and I thought he was passive in general (but not too sure). So whenever I see someone take this line, it's practically never an 8: it's either a slowplayed nut hand, or…

Final Table Strategy
What is the best strategy for a final table in a multi-table tournament? I have now been in two - one as cheap lead 2:1 finished third - one as second lowest out of 6 and finished third.

Hero call river?
Reads yo: well, don't have a ton of hands with villain as i'm pretty new to the site (prolly like 150), but he seems like a pretty standard TAG reg, but a little nitty pf (maybe like 16/14). Haven't seen him ever showdown anything particularly tricky, so idk how capable he is of losing his mind in a spot like this. I…

Folding AA on the bubble in a satellite.
I've posted this in "another place" but to keep the momentum going after Tikay's post, here is another question for you to answer. This occurred in a satellite for a £10 entry tournament so not exactly huge stakes, I know, but the principles are the same, independent of stakes. 6 players left, 5 seats available, 6th place…

Short Stacked Pocket Pairs

Flopped Straight on a Flushing Board, What do you do?
I was playing a sit'n'go on an 8 handed table, blinds were 25/50 with 10 minute levels, the average stack was 1687.50. The action is folded round; Cut-off limps for 50, leaving 1135 chips back. Dealer button folds. I make up the SB of 25 with JQ leaving 1655 chips back The BB checks still with 1405 chips left. The pot is…

tournament play to cash players?
Hi guys, Again im looking for a little help, im most at comfortable as a tournament player (or games where blinds go up) as this is how i learnt poker and is my sort of "normality". However i was looking at doing some cash games as ive noticed alot of people saying cash games are better. However the blinds dont go up,…

Did I play this right or should I have folded pre flop
Just would like some advice here. After the hand concluded, I received a large amount of abuse from the player I knocked out. I asked him why and he said for the weak play. Personally, I thought it was a strong play. I was the chip leader, played quite tight all game but was in the position to bully the small stack next to…

I'm afraid i'm going to moan guys
I've got to say i can't be bothered to play this site much more with its ridiculous bad beats. there is something very wrong about 5 10 beating KK(not one of my hands) and KK losing out to J5 suited( didn't even hit the flush but hit the idiot end of the straight) after an all in. i haven't changed my play and used to…

Good decision or complete stupidity.
I would like to relate a scenario from a recent DYM. We are at the bubble situation and all 4 stacks are very similar. I am on the BB and pick up QQ. UTG goes all in, the button folds and the SB calls. I had a quick look at the stacks and saw that th Sb had only 400 back, less than 1BB. I folded my hand and let them fight…

how do you explain this!
was playing a sit & o scary 6 seater.im on big blind with AK . under the gun calls, folded round to me, i raise 5 times the bb, he calls. flop comes A,10,6 rainbow. i bet out pot sized bet, he calls. 2 comes on the turn, no flushing draw on the board. i go all in and he calls all of his stack. ( we were 1st and 2nd at the…

Is this good play?
In a recent cash game I thought I had a good read on my opponent and judging on how the previous hands had played out I was pretty certain that he had total air and my AK was good. Even so, I'm not sure that what I did on the river wasn't incredibly stupid. I would like to hear your thoughts on…

Is there ANYTHING you can do?
First of all i would like to stress this is not a rant or moan, i just wondered what other peoples opinions were about similar hands! I was playing a £5 DYM and as we all know these are fairly tight, cagey SNG's! 2nd hand of the match im on the button and pick up K 10 of clubs! UTG calls, one in mid position calls, i call…

playing in a 10 seater ds last night 1.5 hrs in, going along OK and played a hand very wrong, but i dont know where, i would get it up on here, but i am computer dumb and dont know how , i can tell you its hand 199597649 7pm ds, if anyone would could give some advice on it would be appreciated

Advice on this hand, please.
That's pretty nasty. Personally, i would stick the lot in pre-flop. I'm guessing judging by the calls (and the time of the hand) that you were playing a very loose table and had probably already identified this. Therefore, the raise, 3-bet and all-in 4-bet pre-flop don't mean as much as they might on a more solid table.…
